As Christians, we are to go all the way to Jesus, not stopping short. In the past, others have stopped short with grievous results. We need to be warned of their example.

God is the Potter, and we as His people are His clay. As the Potter, God will do what He wishes with us. How we respond to His work and will is up to us.

Our God is our loving heavenly Father, and our Lord Jesus already endured more than we can imagine. We can look to Him, knowing that He is with us, and that He’s always going to do what is best for us.

While rebuke is never fun, God’s promises of mercy and grace remain true. Thus, when we are rebuked by God, we shouldn’t forsake Him; we should cling to Him. We should trust Him. He gives us the opportunity to do so…we need only respond.

By no means did Jeremiah have an easy message! His task was to proclaim God’s judgment to the people day-in and day-out…to preach so much to the point that no one could ignore it. They needed to hear about God’s judgment, so they would turn to God in sincere repentance. That message is still needed today, and we are the ones to deliver it to all the world. May we be faithful to do so as we rely on the power of the Holy Spirit!

Faith is the baseline expectation for all the people in the church. God has always worked among those who have true faith in Him. This is His desire for all of us. Specifically, it is His desire for YOU. Christian: make the choice today to walk by faith!

We must choose faith in our own way. We won’t be faced with exactly the same choices as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. None of us will ever be called upon to lay a child on an altar, or to pass on a Messianic covenant. Nor will we (like Moses) be required to face down a powerful king as we seek the freedom for our people. But we will be required to choose faith.

When is the right time to humble ourselves before the Lord? Right now! Each of us has the option of either humbling ourselves before the Lord, or one day being humiliated in our sin. Choose grace! Choose to humble yourselves appealing to the mercies of God, for He has given to us a merciful Savior!

It may sound a bit crude to say, but idolatry is stupid. It is downright foolish, yet men and women all over the world throughout history are prone to it. We would remain lost in that swamp of idolatry, except for one thing: the revelation to us of God through Jesus Christ. Praise God He came to us…for we would never go to Him. Such is His love and His grace!
