There are many evangelistic strategies that people suggest using today, from making church services into shows, setting up booths at different carnivals, and many other such things. But what was the advice Jesus gave on gathering disciples right before His death? How is our love for each other connected to church growth? Jesus gives us the answer in John 14:15-24...

Many today believe that the gospel is only for unbelievers. It is thought that we believe the gospel and then move on to greater things; that we take over ourselves. But is this what the Scripture teaches? Absolutely not.

In his letter to the Galatians, Paul warns against two dangers: the first is mixing the gospel of grace with anything we can contribute on our own. The second is believing that what God has done in the gospel could be finished by our own efforts. Hear how the gospel is indeed good news for all people; both the saved and the unsaved.

The promise from God that He is working all things together for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28) is not empty sentimentalism, nor is it impractical theological information. Instead, it is an anchor in times of trial and suffering.
