  • “Ye are our letter”

Paul is telling the Corinthian believers that their transformed lives serve as a living letter—a testimony to Christ’s work. Rather than needing a written recommendation, Paul says that their faith and conduct are proof of the gospel’s power. In this word, we are challenged to weather this could be said of each of us as believers in the Lord Jesus.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

2 Corinthians 3:1-3 “Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?

2 *Ye* are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read of all men,

3 being manifested to be Christ’s epistle ministered by us, written, not with ink, but [the] Spirit of [the] living God; not on stone tables, but on fleshy tables of [the] heart.”

  • The Pillar and Base of the Truth

The House of God is a central theme throughout the Bible. It is built with living stones—each one redeemed by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus. In this word, you will learn what Scripture teaches about the Church as The Pillar and baseof the Truth and the testimony that should shine from this living household.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Genesis 28:10-19 “10 And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went towards Haran.11 And he lighted on a certain place, and lodged there, because the sun had set. And he took [one] of the stones of the place, and made [it] his pillow, and lay down in that place.12 And he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to the heavens. And behold, angels of God ascended and descended upon it.

13 And behold, Jehovah stood above it. And he said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham, thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land on which thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south; and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.15 And behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all [places] to which thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee until I have done what I have spoken to thee of.

16 And Jacob awoke from his sleep, and said, Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I knew [it] not.17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

18 And Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had made his pillow, and set it up [for] a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it.19 And he called the name of that place Beth-el”

1 Timothy 3:14-15 “14 These things I write to thee, hoping to come to thee more quickly;15 but if I delay, in order that thou mayest know how one ought to conduct oneself in God’s house, which is [the] assembly of [the] living God, [the] pillar and base of the truth.”

  • Do you Have Peace with God?

In a world filled with uncertainty and turmoil, true peace can feel out of reach. True peace isn’t found in the world but in a restored relationship with God through the work of the Lord Jesus.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Romans 5:1-2 “5 Therefore having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ;2 by whom we have also access by faith into this favour in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.”

Romans 15:33 “33 And the God of peace be with you all. Amen.”

  • The God Who Delights in Salvation

The prophet Jeremiah speaks of a God who delights in loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness. This same God, in His great love, reached out to a world that had turned away from Him. Over 2,000 years ago, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring salvation to sinners. Throughout the Gospel story, we see His loving-kindness in mercy, His judgment in justice, and His righteousness in truth—revealing His unchanging character and His desire to redeem the world.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Jeremiah 9:23-24 “23 Thus saith Jehovah: Let not the wise glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty glory in his might; let not the rich glory in his riches:

24 but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] Jehovah, who exercise loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth; for in these things I delight, saith Jehovah.”

1 John 5:19-20 “19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in the wicked [one].

20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding that we should know him that [is] true; and we are in him that [is] true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.”

  • The Love that has been shown to us

This message reflects on the incredible love God has demonstrated toward us. Romans 5:8 shows that even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us — a powerful expression of undeserved grace. In John 15:9, Jesus invites us to abide in the same love the Father has shown Him. John 15:13 then reveals the depth of this love: a willingness to lay down one’s life for friends. The sermon challenges us to embrace this love fully and live in response to the sacrifice made for us.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Romans 5:8 “8 but God commends *his* love to us, in that, we being still sinners, Christ has died for us.”

John 15:9 “9 As the Father has loved me, I also have loved you: abide in my love.”

John 15:13 “13 No one has greater love than this, that one should lay down his life for his friends.”

  • Jesus Paid it all

This gospel message explores the powerful truth that Jesus paid the ultimate price for our redemption. Through Genesis 22:4-14, we see Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice Isaac, foreshadowing God’s own sacrifice of His Son. In 1 Corinthians 7:23, we are reminded that we were “bought with a price.” Jesus’ death was the full payment for our sins, freeing us from bondage. The sermon challenges us to live in the freedom and gratitude of this costly sacrifice — because Jesus truly paid it all.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Genesis 22:4-14 “4 On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar.

5 And Abraham said to his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt-offering, and laid it on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and the knife, and they went both of them together.7 And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father, and said, My father! And he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood; but where is the sheep for a burnt-offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself with the sheep for a burnt-offering. And they went both of them together.9 And they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built the altar there, and piled the wood; and he bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.10 And Abraham stretched out his hand, and took the knife to slaughter his son.

11 And the Angel of Jehovah called to him from the heavens, and said, Abraham, Abraham! And he said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Stretch not out thy hand against the lad, neither do anything to him; for now I know that thou fearest God, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only [son], from me.13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, behind was a ram caught in the thicket by its horns; and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt-offering instead of his son.14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh; as it is said at the present day, On the mount of Jehovah will be provided.”

1 Corinthians 7:23 “23 Ye have been bought with a price”

  • Redemption of the Soul is Costly

God offers redemption for your soul through the Gospel. The Lord Jesus came down from heaven to save sinners from the coming judgment. In His love and mercy, He bore the weight of our sins and gave His life on Calvary’s cross to redeem us. Through His sacrifice, we are offered forgiveness, freedom, and the hope of eternal life. Will you receive this gift of grace today?

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Psalms 49:1-4 “Hear this, all ye peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world:2 Both men of low and men of high degree, rich and poor alike.3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding:4 I will incline mine ear to a parable, I will open my riddle upon the harp.”

Psalms 49:6-8 “6 They depend upon their wealth, and boast themselves in the abundance of their riches. …7 None can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him,8 (For the redemption of their soul is costly, and must be given up for ever,)”

Psalms 49:15-20 “15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol: for he will receive me. Selah.16 Be not afraid when a man becometh rich, when the glory of his house is increased:17 For when he dieth, he shall carry nothing away; his glory shall not descend after him.

18 Though he blessed his soul in his lifetime,—and men will praise thee when thou doest well to thyself,—19 It shall go to the generation of his fathers: they shall never see light.20 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.”

Genesis 25:5 “5 And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.”

Genesis 25:7-10 “7And these are the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.8 And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre—10 the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.”

Exodus 15:13-18 “13 Thou by thy mercy hast led forth the people that thou hast redeemed; Thou hast guided them by thy strength unto the abode of thy holiness.

14 The peoples heard it, they were afraid: A thrill seized the inhabitants of Philistia.15 Then the princes of Edom were amazed; The mighty men of Moab, trembling hath seized them; All the inhabitants of Canaan melted away.16 Fear and dread fall upon them; By the greatness of thine arm they are still as a stone; Till thy people pass over, Jehovah, Till the people pass over that thou hast purchased.

17 Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, The place that thou, Jehovah, hast made thy dwelling, The Sanctuary, Lord, that thy hands have prepared.18 Jehovah shall reign for ever and ever!”

Acts 20:25-32 “25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone about preaching the kingdom [of God], shall see my face no more.26 Wherefore I witness to you this day, that I am clean from the blood of all,27 for I have not shrunk from announcing to you all the counsel of God.

28 Take heed therefore to yourselves, and to all the flock, wherein the Holy Spirit has set you as overseers, to shepherd the assembly of God, which he has purchased with the blood of his own.29 [For] *I* know [this,] that there will come in amongst you after my departure grievous wolves, not sparing the flock;30 and from among your own selves shall rise up men speaking perverted things to draw away the disciples after them.

31 Wherefore watch, remembering that for three years, night and day, I ceased not admonishing each one [of you] with tears.32 And now I commit you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build [you] up and give [to you] an inheritance among all the sanctified.”

  • Salvation from Judgment

Salvation from the coming judgement is found in Jesus Christ. Have you come to Him to receive forgiveness for your sins and peace with God?

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

2 Peter 3:9 “9 [The] Lord does not delay his promise, as some account of delay, but is longsuffering towards you, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Romans 3:23 “23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption which [is] in Christ Jesus;25 whom God has set forth a mercy-seat, through faith in his blood”

Exodus 12:12-13 “I am Jehovah.13 And the blood shall be for you as a sign on the houses in which ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be among you for destruction, when I smite the land of Egypt.”

Romans 5:1 “5 Therefore having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ;”

  • What is Real?

What is true? What is real? Christianity is not founded on imagined fables but on reality. The facts of the Gospel are rock solid, centred on one person: the Lord Jesus Christ. Three certain facts stand at the heart of this truth: “Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; He was buried; and He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

2 Peter 1:16-18 “16 For we have not made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, following cleverly imagined fables, but having been eyewitnesses of *his* majesty.17 For he received from God [the] Father honour and glory, such a voice being uttered to him by the excellent glory: This is my beloved Son, in whom *I* have found my delight;18 and this voice *we* heard uttered from heaven, being with him on the holy mountain.”

    1 Corinthians 15:3-7 “3 For I delivered to you, in the first place, what also I had received, that Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures;4 and that he was buried; and that he was raised the third day, according to the scriptures;

5 and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.6 Then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the most remain until now, but some also have fallen asleep.

7 Then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;8 and last of all, as to an abortion, he appeared to *me* also.”

  • “He died for me”

God’s love is beyond measure! He proved it by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, as our Saviour. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we find redemption, hope, and eternal life.

    Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

Romans 5:8 “but God commends *his* love to us, in that, we being still sinners, Christ has died for us.”

Romans 5:6-8 “6 for we being still without strength, in [the] due time Christ has died for [the] ungodly.

7 For scarcely for [the] just [man] will one die, for perhaps for [the] good [man] some one might also dare to die;8 but God commends *his* love to us, in that, we being still sinners, Christ has died for us.”

2 Corinthians 6:2 “behold, now [is the] well-accepted time; behold, now [the] day of salvation:)”
