* R. W. Dale delivered nine lectures on preaching at Yale University in the late 1800s (see episode resources below for link).

* Dale offered the following advice to preaching students:

* Don’t repeat history’s mistakes.

* Learn from older preachers.

* Give attention to your school assignments.

* Don’t grow impatient with your schooling.

* Remember who you are and Whose you are.

* Learn to read.

* Make yourself read things the things that are less interesting to you as well as the things that are most interesting to you.
