Precarious work was a major risk factor during the pandemic, and was implicated in the catastrophe that took place in long-term care. A report released last month in Ontario says that government inaction on workplace protections is undermining pandemic recovery. It documents how lack of workplace protections like decent wages and paid sick days has widened existing health inequities.
