  • The Importance Of A Healthy Parent Child Relationship
When it comes to relationships many individuals struggle with developing and maintaining relationships for many different reasons. Although there are several different types of relationships one would perceive the relationship between a parent and child to be the easiest yet it is often viewed as the most complicated. It has been said that such relationship is often devauled and misunderstood.
This relationship is qualitively different from other relationships as many may be unaware of its importance. It is known that such relationship often set the foundation as one may view and respond to the world and others around them. This relationship is also often impacted by each person's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. If both have positive thoughts and feelings about one another and theirbehaviors are mutually respected the relationship can be healthy, functional and satisfying. However in sone cases one may lack the skills and tools needed to meet their child's needs or one may feel stressed, overwhelmed and may not respond appropriately to one another. There are also situations where the parents may be experiencing conflicts which may affect the relationship.
There are some benefits to having a healthy parent child relationship. Join me and other callers as I assist indivifduals with building a stronger parent child relationship. Live 6/25/18 at 12pm Pacific. To join in on the conversation call 516 387-1914 or email questions to [email protected]

  • Women In Male Dominated Careers
As a child many young girls had dreams of becoming an athlete, joining the military, obtaining a professional career or becoming first responder in a male dominated field. As the young lady became an adult, many obtained an education, received professional training and prepared for their dream career only to become disappointed. Many have endured challenges that many of authority either have closed their eyes or refuse to believe that such challenges, attitudes, perceptions  and behaviors still exist.
We witnessed this in our last political election. It exist in the board rooms, military, law enforcement, and even with our first responders. So what are we now to tell our daughters, grand daughters or little sisters as they want save lives or make a difference in the world? Yet many careers are still dominated by men. This can't be ignored anymore.
Many women have walked into male dominated careers or worked places and perform well yet do not receive the promotions or recognition that they deserve. A woman should not have to be discriminated against, mistreated, harassed, sacrifice their values, reinvent their personality or be under paid. Let's educate others and break those gender biases that continue to exist.

  • Equally Yoked
What does it mean to be equally yoked? Sounds like a simple question yet ones response may vary. This can make the dating process complicated. If you grew up in church you may have likely heard of being equally yoked as it is referenced to relationships. It may also be used as a guidance as to how to select a mate or life partner.
2 Corinthians 6:14 says "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers." So when one goes from dating to marriage it is often then that many find that they may be in trouble. It is not easy to say no to a relationship that is less than God's intention. I can recall when a young couple would say that they were in love and a senior would advise otherwise. If this is God's perfect plan then why are so many believers missing the mark?
Join Pastor Daniel Estell and I as we discuss being Equally Yoked.  Live 6/5/18 at 11:30am Pacific. You can also call in to join in on the discussion. Many will be getting married this summer. We have free will, however let's just make sure you are equally yoked

  • Empty Nest Syndrome
Being a parent is not easy nor does it come with a manual. The feelings and emotions that a parent can experience can become overwhelming if not addressed appropriately.
Children are given to us as a gift from God. However being a parent never ends.   Children must grow up. Parents may miss their companionship or daily contact. Different cultures have different beliefs when it comes to the process that will naturally transpire once a child becomes a young adult. This brings us to the topic: Empty Nest Syndrome. Empty Nest Syndrome is a feeling that may present as grief or loneliness that a parent may feel when their children leave  home for the first time, such as to live on their own, graduating high school or  college, military, or perhaps getting married.
Understanding the feelings that proceed be it anxiety or depression is often misunderstood and can affect the life of both the adult child and parent. There are steps that one can take to prepare for this prccess. If left untreated the symptoms can make one vulnerable to depression, alcoholism, identity crisis or marital conflcts. With help there are possible benefits which could consist of new opportunities to reconnect with one another, improve the quality of life ofones marriage, or perhaps rekindle interest which one previously felt that they did not have time for.
Join me along with guest and callers as we discuss this process live 6/4/18 at 12pm Pacific.
