Precious Remedies To Encourage The Soul Through The Bible Through The Year Podcast Summary

Day 185-  The Cry for Justification

Job chapters 25 through 27 cover Bildad’s final, brief attempt to correct Job, followed by Job’s eloquent response and his firm refusal to falsely confess to sins he did not commit. Together, these chapters highlight the stark contrast between human limitation and divine sovereignty.

    Bible in a Year: Job 25-27 & Acts 12

Doris and I have been at this for more than five years now, and we often wonder how much longer God will use us, especially when I oversleep or miss a deadline. But I’m reminded of a comment found in the book “From Famine to Fullness,” by Dean Ulrich; it reads, “ Of all that could go wrong…in your life, God brings about good. No, we do not always know what good can come out of the situations in our lives, but God does. He makes no mistakes. We can believe that He is up to good on our behalf.”

    Day 181 – “God’s Unexpected Mission”

Acts 10:1–23 recounts two divine visions that set the stage for the Gospel to spread to Gentiles. A Roman centurion, Cornelius, is told by an angel to send for the Apostle Peter. Meanwhile, God gives Peter a vision to abandon dietary restrictions, preparing him to welcome Gentiles.

Today Christians do not have strict religious dietary restrictions. Because New Testament teachings declare all foods "clean," followers are typically free to eat whatever they choose. However, some denominations observe specific fasts, and interpretations vary regarding the consumption of blood.

The Precious Remedies To Encourage The Soul, Through The In One Year Podcast Summary, of Job 14-16,

Day 180 – “When the Soul Groans”

Beginning with; Job 14: Job reflects on how short and troubled life is. He compares mortal life to a fading flower and contrasts it with nature, noting that even a chopped tree has hope to grow again, whereas a human does not return from the grave. He wishes God would hide him in the grave until his anger passes. Job 15: Eliphaz begins his second speech, rebuking Job for his complaints. He argues that Job's words show a lack of wisdom and accuses him of arrogance and wickedness, claiming that the suffering of the wicked is inevitable. Job 16: Job responds by calling his friends "miserable comforters" who only add to his pain. He expresses deep anguish over God's harsh treatment but maintains his innocence. Despite his grief, Job expresses a desperate yearning for a "redeemer" or a witness in heaven who will eventually clear his name.

The Precious Remedies To Encourage the Soul Through The Bible In One Year Podcast Description

Day 179 – “From Persecutor to Pastor”

A short, pastoral reflection on Acts 9:22–43 exploring how God’s correction redirects zeal, how the church’s compassion restores the corrected, and how visible acts of mercy and healing strengthen witness. This episode encourages listeners to welcome God’s correction and to become instruments of restoration in their communities. It is proof positive that God can save his worst enemies, just as we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Day 176 - The Cost of Witness and the Glory of Forgiveness

Stephen concludes his defense to the Jewish council by stating that while God commanded the tabernacle to be built in the wilderness, the Most High cannot be contained by human-made temples. He then fiercely rebukes the religious leaders, resulting in a mob stoning him to death while he prays for their forgiveness.    Bible in a Year: Job 3-4 & Acts 7:44-60

Day 175th   “The Integrity Of a suffering Job, and the Sovereignty of a Gracious God”

    Bible in a Year: Job 1-2 & Acts 7:22-43

Job 1–2 shows a faithful believer can suffer great loss without abandoning God; for a Reformed Christian this means trusting God’s sovereignty, persevering in prayer and repentance, and seeing trials as sanctifying rather than merely punitive..

I once read that The proud person is Satan’s throne, and the idle man his pillow. In my opinion Job was neither of these.

Day 174 “Stephen A Faithful Witness”

    Bible in a Year: Esther 9-10 & Acts 7:1-21

Acts 7:1–21 serves as the opening of Stephen’s defense before the Sanhedrin, where he outlines Israel’s early history to demonstrate that God’s presence and redemptive work are not confined to the physical Temple. This passage specifically defines a recurring biblical pattern: God’s continued faithfulness to his people despite their repeated rejection of his chosen leaders.
