Day 160 - “Peace, Pardon, and the Weight of Sin”

Leviticus 3 outlines the peace (or fellowship) offering, a voluntary sacrifice celebrating communion with God. Leviticus 4 details the sin offering, a mandatory sacrifice to make atonement for specific, unintentional sins. Both chapters emphasize God's desire for the consecration of His people and the necessity of dealing with human imperfection.

Doris and I have been at this for more than five years now, and we often wonder how much longer God will use us, especially when I oversleep or miss a deadline. But I’m reminded of a comment found in the book “From Famine to Fullness,” by Dean Ulrich; it reads, “ Of all that could go wrong…in your life, God brings about good. No, we do not always know what good can come out of the situations in our lives, but God does. He makes no mistakes. We can believe that He is up to good on our behalf.”

I have only missed my morning watch once or twice this year… I can easily believe that it is next in importance to accepting Christ. For I know that when I don't wait upon God in prayer and Bible…
