Boarding school students from rural and regional areas are preparing for the first day of term - many for the first time. 

While it is a daunting experience for many leaving home or the farm- the Australian Boarding Schools Association says there are several ways to prepare children for the transition. 

Rural reporter Dusty Fitzpatrick spoke with ABSA Chief Executive Richard Stokes to get some tips for students, and their parents.
