I am so excited to announce that I will have my first guest, Homestead Moma  I had the privilege of meeting her in person at a recent Prepper Show.  She did an awesome demonstration of home made soaps from scratch and it was truly amazing.  My wife and I also purchased some essential oils and learned so much in the short time we spent.

Since then, we have stayed in touch through email and YouTube where she runs a weekly show as well as many videos all week long.  Join me and lets all get to know Melissa, the Homestead Moma.   I truly believe, you will not be disappointed.

Question of the week... How many gallons of hot water does the average family of four use each day?

Have you considered what you might do for hot water when SHTF?  How about saving some money on utilities by doing some of these things now?  We have talked about lots of things on this show and even touched on this topic here previously, see an expanded post on the blog. So let's give it a real look shall we?

There are multiple ways to get hot water that do not require a person to utilized the utilities. Some of them are basic, like on top of the woodstove or over an open flame.  Using your generator to power a heat source or even propane.  But generator fuel runs out and so does propane.  Over a flame limits the amount of water you can heat so now what?

Lets look at two other ways to get hot water.

Copper coil (either passive or active)
