Dr. Dustin Cummings is originally from Michigan. He did his undergrad and medical school at the University of Michigan. He currently is a bariatric and acute care surgeon practicing in New York City. When he’s not in the operating room, he trades his scalpel for a script. Dustin is talented science fiction novelist. He published the first book in his trilogy called Exiles of a Gilded Moon Volume One: Empire’s Wake published by Shadow Spark Publishing in November 2020. His second book is due in September 2021. Dr. Cecilia Crisanti is originally from Argentina. She graduated from Medical School at the University of Buenos Aires in 2002. She then moved to the US in 2003 where she completed surgical residency training in Pittsburgh and clinical research fellowship in Pittsburgh. She then switched gears into the Basic Science Research world at the University of Pennsylvania. Influenced by her exposure to community outreach, she completed family medicine training in Erie, Pennsylvania. Currently, Dr. Crisanti is a faculty member at Bellevue Hospital Center. In 2018, Dr. Crisanti started Soto- a line of skin care products. Dr. Crisanti is dedicated to clean beauty as all her products are organic, non hormone disruptor ingredients and no preservatives. Listen in as we go through her journey from clinic to cleansers.

His medical career spans over 20 years. John now lives in  the southern Adirondacks in upstate New York with his family.  

John has traveled all over the world - Spain to Japan, South Africa, Italy, India, Ireland, Mexico, Chile — he loves nothing more than to criss-cross the globe in search of great culinary and cultural experiences. That eventually led him to meet his friend and business partner Charles Grabitzky, with whom he founded Rascal and Thorn  in 2015.

Rascal and Thorn is a global travel company that specializes in custom gastronomic and beverage tours.  Their amazing portfolio includes, to name a few, a week-long trip to Barcelona exploring the legacy of  elBulli culinary scene, a maple distillery & brewery tour of Ireland, a whiskey tours of Scotland and Japan, and a full culinary and gastronomy trip to Oaxaca in Mexico where the group dives head first into Oaxaca’s traditional and fine dining cuisine, its celebrated Mezcal, and the arts and crafts of that fascinating region.

John defines taking a passion project and making it into a fruitful and successful side career while still maintaining balance and success in medicine. We are honored and thrilled to have John speak with us today.
