President Nikos Christodoulides visited Israel this week where he met with President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The visit follows key trips to Greece, Egypt and France, and came despite the recent unrest affecting Israelis and Palestinians, underlining the importance of Cyprus’s ties with Israel. Prof. Gabriel Haritos joins Thanos Davelis to discuss the significance of Christodoulides’ trip to Israel, and look at the issues discussed - from energy to the question of Israeli investments and tourists in the occupied northern part of Cyprus.

Gabriel Haritos is an adjunct lecturer at the Ben Gurion University of the Negev, where he focuses on political relations between Israel, Greece and Cyprus. He is a visiting professor at the Panteion University and at the University of Nicosia, and a researcher at ELIAMEP and at the Ben Gurion Research Institute. Additionally, he is the author of the forthcoming book
