We get INTO IT over Avatar: The Way of Water. You thought you were here for a pop culture podcast - now it's philosophical and economic debates on what "success" truly is for a film. If it makes money, is it good? It'll bring you right back to that one dumb humanities class you were required to take.

 @deadspace  has raised the bar for game remakes. Added mechanics, buffing out annoyances, making sections more practical and story drive (cough cough asteroids), and overall setting expectations high for future releases. We'll be looking forward to RE4's remake to see how it compares.

More philosophy around who is the Academy really catering towards. Oscars award nominations were released and there's some confusion around categories and people being left out. The Batman was the most snubbed film out of all this year...

If they had their way, Stranger Things might owe them some money. The Last of Us Episode 1 came out on @hbomax this week and there's nothing else to say that hasn't been said by everyone else: this is already a masterpiece. But it begs the question: are we finally out of the horrid video game to tv/movie adaptation curse? Clip of the Week is hands down, one of the most shocking clips lately. You could count on one hand the other clips that come close.

But actually, we've got a couple of topics today starting out with the DCU Debunkings. A lot of information came out about what movies are staying and what's been canned under James Gunn's new leadership, and we're here to give you the truth in all the dust that's been kicked up. Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, we've got it all.

The Game Awards 2022 happened earlier this week, with the two highlights being the world's longest acceptance speech by Christopher Judge and the world's most confusing award acceptance by that Elden Ring kid. Wanna know who he is? Listen in and find out.

Now that Mike and Nick are caught up, the gang goes through every Marvel Movie (...movie. not TV show. we're not including that slop) and throws them on a ranking list. Clearly we're all in easy agreement, definitely not any arguments or strong positioning.

We finish this week off with Guillermo del Toro's latest release Pinnochio (2022). We were also split on this one - can you guess who was supportive and who said "I checked my phone to see how much longer was left, and I was only 27 minutes in"?

This week on Press Any Key Episode 94, we've got TRAILERS! Everything dropped this last week and we go over all the fun ones. The Last of Us official trailer came out for  @hbomax  and wow does it look incredible. Cocaine Bear is a horror-comedy that we'll all be seeing (it's a bear on cocaine, don't overcomplicate it). Transformers: Rise of the Beasts has Pat all excited for gorilla robots. Nick's hesitant about the new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer (Nick hates aliens, Pat hates Temple of Doom, and Mike's just happy to be here). Lastly, we have the new  @NintendoAmerica  Super Mario Bros Movie trailer and we play "guess the language!" because, in every other country, they got better than Chris Pratt. Pat spent 12hrs playing The Callisto Protocol and cannot decide if he likes it or hates it. There are a lot of problematic elements about the game (combat, linear direction, etc.) but he felt compelled to finish it while tweeting angrily the whole way. Wrapping it up, we checked out the new Guardians of The Galaxy Holiday Special. It's a brisk 40-ish minute, family-friendly James Gunn special that's got some funny bits and a relatively important last 3 minutes. Can we please stop including game-changing plots and events in these little spin-offs? Regardless, if you liked the Guardians movies you'll enjoy this.

This week on episode 91 of Press Any Key, we all take a trip to @The Roku Channel and Roku City to watch the newest @Funny Or Die movie "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld), and Rainn Wilson (The Office). Comedies have taken such a dramatic tone lately, it's great to have a ridiculous romp that doesn't try to be any bit serious. We loved it, you'll love listening to us love it.

Few other updates in this episode, with some conversations around @Lucasfilm and new #starwars movies being pushed and delayed. Pat + Nick are always excited, Mike's a bit more hesitant and honestly forgot that the #obiwankenobi sequel even came out. David Zaslav goes on what sounds like some drunken boardroom rants about factually inaccurate information, but his heart's in the right place. We wrap up the show with some Guess The Game content, focusing on Playstation-only exclusives and trying to guess the title based on reviews. Pat was... disappointed, to say the least.

 @Marvel Entertainment  is back with a new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer with footage of KANG! We're stoked for this movie, but we hope it doesn't rush into the next phase of Marvel and they take their time. DC is also making waves with James Gunn and Peter Safran running the all-new and combined DC Studios. Will this finally be what it takes to lift them by their bootstraps?
