  • The Ultimate Tony Moran Legacy — Volume 1
Anthony "Tony" Moran is a DJ, record producer, remixer, singer, and songwriter known for remixing popular songs. In 2007, he hit number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart twice with "Walk Away" featuring Kristine W and "Keep Your Body Working" featuring Martha Wash. Moran also has a total of seven number-one hits on the Billboard Dance Club Songs music charts in the United States and he has recently had four number one Billboard chart hits in the years 2016 and 2017.[1]

As a remix producer, Moran has remixed work from top music artists including Janet Jackson, Madonna, George Michael, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Deborah Cox, Cher, Kristine W, and many others.

This first set focuses solely on his 90s work when he was the guy you called when you couldn't get David Morales, Junior Vasquez, or Hex Hector on the phone. By the mid-millennium, after Hex Hector dropped out of the scene and Morales and Vasquez weren't enjoying the success they previously held, Tony Moran's star began to shine even brighter. He slipped into this gap and much of his work with either Jody Den Broeder and Warren Rigg produced some of the most iconic remixes of a generation.

That's not to say his 90s output was mince meat because his productions and remixes were impeccable and even though they closely resembled the work of all three DJs above to fit what he was working on — they were uniquely his own. His remix of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" is quite possibly one for the record books with its big ass tribal beats and high-energy synths — the remix was every gay boy's wet dream. Moran was channeling Hex Hector better than the man himself with that remix.

Tony Moran would go on to release his albums featuring some of the biggest divas on the planet, which were major events (pun intended) in themselves. They would generate massive club hits that soaked the world's dance floors in man's sweat. He was a fixture on the circuit scene and his world tours drew massive crowds making him one of the first superstar DJs (next to Tiesto) to capitalize on his name.

Tony has had a long and productive career that continues to generate massive #1 Billboard Dance Club hits for Jason Walker and Martha Wash to this day.

It is with much love and admiration for a man who got his start doing exactly what I used to do by creating mixtape edits back in the day that Party Favorz honors the multi-talented Tony Moran into our exclusive Legacy series. ENJOY!

Ultimately, there will be three to four sets in this series, which will be staggered out through November (possibly into December) as a lot is planned for the last two mont...

  • Shake It Up Tonight — Disco House Party Mix
Party Favorz is back with our weekend drop 'Shake It Up Tonight,' which is a massive Disco House set featuring the absolute latest House Music tracks that include NuDisco, Jackin House, Soulful and Deep House grooves for those of you who prefer something funky in your party arsenal.

This set had been finished since last week but we had to go back this morning and rework the final transition between the newly released remix of 'Unspeakable Joy' by one of our favorite Divas Kim English to the amazing 'Beginnings' by Don Welch. We had been sitting on that track since August as it dropped too late to get onto our last batch of funky house music. For some of you older folks and/or fans of the group Chicago, this is a nice House remix of their early 70's pop hit by the same name that charted as a double-sided single with the other being the bigger track 'Color My World.'

'Beginnings' in its radio format is a nice pop track featuring the horn section Chicago had become known for but the album version lodges into the group's signature alternative rock-jazz-fusion style that clocks in over 7 minutes. This remix reimagines the track in the world of House Music and it's so well done that it had to be the closer for this set. The song kinda flew past most DJs radars but being the musical connoisseurs that we are — it had to be included.

The transition from the Dr Packer Mix had a cold acapella ending (which we generally like) but it wasn't working in that the beats clashed with the incoming Don Welch track even though they were in the same key. So, some creative tricks were employed to make the transition sound as seamless as possible and it's not something a DJ would do on the fly but in the studio. Our goal is to provide a seamless experience throughout even if it's not something anyone would appreciate but anal retentives like us (i.e. me when I'm talking in 3rd person).

This set was intentionally ginormous because it's not clear yet if there will be one final Disco House set by the end of the year (though that's the goal). We've got a massive slate of releases scheduled between now and the end of 2021 so saddle up because it's going to be a wild ride to pack everything in.

I've got some good news on the price increase front (hint: there won't be one) and will provide more details on what's going on in a separate post tomorrow. Until then...ENJOY!

  • Shiny Disco Balls — Peak Hour Dance Party
Not happy with some of the supposed 'top' Tech House songs that sounded liked they were slapped together from a 1980s beat machine and dropped in a Classic Rock sample from the 1960s and called it a day — Party Favorz shook the Alternative House Music tree until far superior tracks dropped from its golden leaves.

The end result is a masterpiece that was a grueling process of track selection in Tech House, Bass House, Breakbeat, Electronica, Techno, and Big Room sprinkled with classic edits, mashups, and bootlegs that will keep your after-hour Halloween party moving well past midnight.

This will be the last of the Halloween-themed sets as we're gearing up for what looks like a MASSIVE Disco House drop next week. Until then...ENJOY!

  • HW-21 — Halloween Dance Party
Party Favorz is back with the annual HW series featuring all the latest Dance Club hits, bootlegs, mashups, and classic dance tracks revisited, and boy oh boy is this set a whopper!

I was feeling out of sorts for several days and each time I attempted to sit down and put this together, I hit a roadblock right out of the gate. By Thursday, I sat down picked a starting point, and just let the music move me. Though I've only created a one-stop set like this a couple of times before — this is the closest you'll ever get to listen to me live.

With 200+ songs to go through, I threw tracks out on the fly while sitting for 4 1/2 hours going from one song to the next. The result is pure magic! So much so, I even impressed myself at how well this set came out. Granted, there are a few songs (while not terrible) I could have left off — overall, I'm very pleased with the end result.

The set kicks off with a remake of the Stevie Wonder penned classic 'Tell Me Something Good,' which was a hit back in the seventies for Rufus & Chaka (Khan). This is one of those songs that should give anyone pause trying to remake. I will say that Ewan McVicar did an amazing job reworking it into a firecracker House track. I do question the unusually long build-up before the song picks up steam but it appears to have worked as it's sitting in everyone's Top 20 at the moment.

    [youtube v="PkP1qJlQzqg"]

Once you get through the first track, it's all hands on deck and anything goes from there. This is a Halloween dance party worth remembering!

I've already compiled the track list for the next Peak Hour set and will start working on that today. Until the next time...ENJOY!

  • Adele | The Diva Series
It's been six long years since one of our favorite divas Adele released an album and we now have word that her next single will be dropping on October 15th. So, Party Favorz thought we would go back and revisit her original induction into the Diva Hall of Fame to get everyone caught up because y'all know there are gonna be slamming remixes (official and unofficial) accompanying her album. So damn good. ENJOY!

English singer Adele (Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) won two Grammys for her debut album 19 in 2009 and it’s been nothing but uphill since then. After the success of that album, if you still didn’t know who she was, you couldn’t avoid her after her sophomore album release 21. Her amazing performance of “Rolling In the Deep” on the Letterman Show further solidified her name and went on to win an additional six Grammy’s including Album of the Year.

By the time 25 landed, all bets were off when she won a contentious battle of the Grammy for Album of the Year beating out another one of our favorite divas Beyoncé. While heartfelt, her acceptance speech may have been slightly over the top but all is forgiven because she was (as in past interviews) genuinely sincere if not surprised by her win.

While lacking the vocal gymnastics of her predecessors, Adele has put herself in a position to wrangle the mantle away from Celine Dion who stole it from Barbra Streisand. She has the qualities of Celine’s overly genuine and heartfelt gratitude and sincerity with Barbra’s street smarts, honesty, and use of frosty language to express her views. Combined with her outstanding beauty and talent, she IS the ultimate DIVA.

Party Favorz is proud if not downright giddy about inducting one of our favorite artists of the 21st century into the DIVA Hall of Fame. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome our newest DIVA, Adele.

  • Fall Edition 2021 — Cool Down with the Season’s Hottest Circuit Anthems
Every once in a while, a set just comes together without effort and is so flawless that it makes you just want to scream HALLELUJAH! The Fall Edition 2021 is one such example.

It appears that many top circuit DJs have been switching up their remixes and moving towards a more progressive big room sound, not unlike several tracks you may have heard from the latest Ultimate 90's Classics [1998 - 1999] series. Hell, even Stewart Who? makes an appearance here.

Is it anything new? No. Is it a refreshing change from the redundant big tribal beats that have permeated the scene for the past several years? A resounding YES!

Granted, Dirty Disco has been at the forefront of the change for over a year now and it seems other DJs are just now following suit.

Toy Armada has dropped his big room uplifting anthems in favor of a more progressive house style. There were three new works from him: one was with his longtime partner DJ Grind, another with Jace M (who he's worked with in the past), and a solo offering for Leanh. The last two are a good sampling of his mindset but the one with DJ Grind missed the mark (and was subsequently dropped from this set). Party Favorz looks forward to where he's taking his music.

Even Offer Nissim, who has always stood out from the pack with a very specific progressive sound often emulated by other big-name Israeli DJs has switched things up by housing up his staple sound on his latest collaboration with Deborah Cox on the stellar "Summer of Love.

Up-and-coming fellow Israeli DJ Michael Benayon delivers on what is otherwise a mediocre song "Snow In the Sahara" by Bouvier & Barona featuring Akazi. The song itself sounds like a Eurovision cheesy euro-pop track that Dirty Disco and Wayne G capitalized on but we just weren't feeling it. Micahel Benyon flips the track with a deeper progressive groove that not only gives the song a deeper meaning but actual purpose.

Speaking of Dirty Disco, the boys have updated the Celeda classic "The Underground" in a variety of flavors that is certain to light up dance floors across the globe. The original track was a former #1 Dance Club hit on Billboard, which was originally released on Peter Rauhofer's Star 69 label in the earlier part of the millennium. I fully expect you'll be hearing this tune in its various incarnations shortly — if you already aren't.

We've got a stellar release schedule lined up for October with the annual Halloween dance mix HW21 dropping next week and it's lining up to be a surefire banger. Until then...ENJOY!

  • The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1998 – 1999] pt. 6
Party Favorz began down the path of the Ultimate 90's House Classics on October 10, 2020. One year later, we've finally reached the end of this historical series, and what a journey it's been.

Volume 6 wraps up the remaining massive progressive club hits with a few leftover Classic House tracks from that period. There's virtually nothing in this final set you won't recognize (even if you don't remember the title). The one exception is the Hex Hector remix of Tina Turner's "When the Heartache Is Over," which was widely rumored at the time but never materialized (at least not to the best of my knowledge). The preferred remix at the time was the Metro Mix. The Hex Hector remix never came across my radar until I started working on the Tina Turner Diva Hall of Fame series earlier this year.

It appears that remix may have only been serviced to DJs and being from small-town America where I drove to San Antonio 4 hours to the north every other month to pick up the latest releases, my only other option was the DJ008 website. If anyone remembers that site, it was the precursor to Napster, WinMX, and other file-sharing services as well as another famous dance music file-sharing website whose name escapes me at the moment.

Granted, we were on dial-up and downloads could take hours for a single song so you had to be selective and certain about what you wanted or you end wasting countless hours tying up your phone line on just one track. Hence, the trek to San Antonio for the latest club tunes made sense. Besides, I'd make a weekend of it and party at the Bonham Exchange.

To make a long story short, I included that elusive version here (though it's not his best work) for those that might be interested. Otherwise, everything included in this series stays true to the period of the classic song's release.

I've already created the artwork, compiled the tracks for the annual Fall Edition for the gay boys, and started the mixing process and I'm stoked to be working on current remixes. It will definitely be finished later today giving me enough time to preview it except two promos not set to drop until next Friday. I have alternate remixes for the tracks if these don't come through on time. Otherwise, I'm set. Expect that set to drop next Saturday. Until then...ENJOY!

  • The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1998 – 1999] pt. 5
As we head into the final stretch of the Ultimate 90's House Classics series from 1998 - 1999 — part 5 delivers those odds and ends party house classics that go outside the progressive house that had become mainstream during this period of musical evolution.

Songs like "Music Sounds Better With You" by Stardust, which spawned several mashups including the eponymous "Holiday" mashup by Madonna who has used this version live in concerts, "Get Get Down" by Paul Johnson, "Bodyrock" by Moby, "9PM (Til I Come)" by ATB, which is the basis for this year's massive "Your Love (9PM)" by Topic & A7S, "Red Alert" by Basement Jaxx, "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay, which has been used as the basis for multiple mashups as of late, "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65 (I'm in need of a guy), "It's Like That" by Run DMC vs. Jason Nevins, which launched Nevin's space into the hard-hitting rock influenced remixes he was later known for, "King Of My Castle" by Wamdue Project and the bouncy Eurodance hit "2 Times" by Ann Lee amongst so many other memorable moments from this period.

How Party Favorz managed to make these diverse offerings work in one seamless set is so mysterious that even I don't know how I did it but it works in spades. One spin and you'll be reliving one of the most magical moments in dance music history with just the one set alone.

The final set will wrap up predominantly massive progressive house tracks and you can expect to drop on Saturday. Until then...ENJOY!

I don't have any special commentary on The Ultimate 90's House Classics [1998 - 1999] pt. 4 other than it's an extension of everything already released. There are a lot of golden nuggets included here and volume 4 speaks for itself.

I'll be putting the finishing touches on volume 5 today and will then start on volume 6. The final two volumes of this series will drop later this coming week. The annual Fall Edition featuring the latest in circuit music for the gay boys will drop the following week (as there is a ton of promos clogging up my inbox at the moment) and our normal schedule for the latest releases will resume.

  • The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1998 – 1999] pt. 3
Party Favorz is back with volume three of the Ultimate 90's House Classics [1998 - 1999] and this set dives deep into progressive territory.

We kick the party off with one of our all-time favorites 'Lately' by Divine with Jonathan Peters performing remix duties. With its upbeat synths and fantastic harmonies — 'Lately' packed the floor every time it dropped.

Of course, all the club favorites from this era are here like Faith Hill's 'Breathe' and the sweeping Hex Hector accompanying remix, 'Sexual' by Amber (a Thunderpuss instant classic), 'I Will Go With You' by Donna Summer that was packaged with the some of the biggest name DJs from that period, 'Someone To Hold' by Veronica showcasing Johnny Vicious' versatility who would go on to be an in-demand DJ in the early millennium, Whitney Houston's defiant 'It's Not Right, But It's Okay' (another Thunderpuss instant classic that takes the R&B original and jacks it up by a factor of 100 while blowing a hole in the roof with Whitney's powerful vocals - thank you Clive) and the massive 'You're Still the One' by Shania Twain courtesy of Soul Solution.

Some of you may be looking at this track list and scratching your heads over the inclusion of 'Ojos Asi' by Shakira. I grew up in South Texas and the Columbian-born singer was already a massive star through Central America, Mexico, and various pockets of the United States with large Latino populations. The song has a strong middle eastern sound and was not like anything else on her fourth album the critically acclaimed and multi-platinum 'Dónde Están Los Ladrones? It was tacked on to what was otherwise a more rock and acoustic album that elicited comparisons to Alanis Morissette. Once the video dropped for 'Ojos Asi' all bets were off. The song blew up and Shakira had arrived.

Under the tutelage of Emilio Estefan (husband of Gloria Estefan), Shakira was primed to cross over into the American market and it would be two years before she dropped her first English language album 'Laundry Service' in the states.

The remix for 'Ojos Asi' is often credited to Thunderpuss but was actually Pablo Flores who was also a producer on her album. The song was an instant floor filler upon its release in 1999 and frankly, fits in nicely with the tracks that surround it.

Before there was Todrick Hall or Lil Nas X — there was Kevin Aviance. 'Rhythm Is My Bitch' was his second of three #1 dance club hits, which followed his 80's remake 'Din Da Da' and was proceeded by 'Alive' in 2002 with two other top 5 releases 'Give It Up' and 'Strut.' He had a cameo in Madonna's 'Secret' video and has worked with Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston. He was also a member of the vogue-ball house 'House of Aviance' and was a gender-bending leader who paved the path for others. Check out the video below:

I've still got two possibly three more sets to go in this series. I'm setting a goal of getting them all out this next week without sacrificing tracks or quality. It gets harder once you start getting to the bottom but I'm convinced I can work it out. Until the next time...ENJOY!
