January 29, 2025 Chapter 40: A Flower Forest in May

I highly recommend doing so if this is your first time experiencing the book.
And we're in Mayflower, spooky mystery follows!
I hope the disclaimer at the beginning wasn't too annoying, I feel very strongly that the glimpse forward the author wrote in this chapter was dumb and ruined a lot of the tension of this arc so I encourage people to skip it.

January 29, 2025 Chapter 35: Happily Never After the Fall
Welcome to Arc 3!
This is possibly my favorite arc, and the favorite of many. Because of that, I have upped my release schedule to 3 chapters a week for this arc. If it goes well I might keep that pace for the rest of the book too, we will see!
Also, I changed up my post-processing process. Did you notice the difference? If you did, did it sound better or worse? Please let me know, as I want to make things sound as good as possible.

January 29, 2025 Chapter 34: Flames of a Feather fall Together
Arc 2 is done!
I had an absolute blast recording this chapter! This chapter is full of action and emotion and getting to try and capture that in the recording booth is a real treat.
I hope you enjoyed Garrow's voice, originally I was going to go for Russian but I don't know how to do Russian and I didn't want to delay my recording schedule to try and practice one like I did for Irish. So we ended up with whatever his accent was here haha.
Chapter 34 spoilers:
I enjoyed doing Prey's Garrow imitation more than Garrow's own voice to be honest haha, just a squeeky boi being a oddly voiced bird was amusing to me.
The first time I read the chapter I was on the edge of my seat, I knew there were still 70-ish chapters so Prey had to live, left but I was honestly unsure if Gloom or Crimson were going to die. Even though this was my second reading, because I was getting into it with all the character voices and emotion in the booth I found my self a bit choked up when Crimson saved Prey at the end there. I hope to have that more while making the audiobook!
Anyway, See you all in arc 3 with new art by Lost Marbles!

January 29, 2025 Chapter 33: Building a Nest of Lumber
The suspense is killing me!
When I first read these chapters they felt way longer than they really are. I remembered it feeling like 4 chapters at least, but I guess not. The suspense is so good!
What will happen to Prey, Gloom, and Crimson? Will they escape the room, or will they be subjected to the whims of the salt dealers? I guess we'll have to wait and see!
