January 29, 2025 Chapter 31: Spinning Lies into Cotton
Khe khe khe.
I really enjoyed doing the laughing scene. I not sure it was everything I was going for in my head, but hopefully their laughs all felt fitting haha.
I have a funny outtake from me in the recording booth during the factory tour. I kept having to redo lines because I was having a hard time quickly switching between the Irish for the worker, the Jersey-ish for Gloom, and the squeaky for Prey. I just sort of stopped for a minute, exasperated, and had to lament choosing to do a bunch of very different accents in one scene.
As always, I hope you enjoyed the chapter! We're only 3 chapters away from the arc finally and I'm really looking forward to it!

January 29, 2025 Chapter 30: Gloom settles on us
I really enjoy Prey's constant fear of unicorns, even though the average Canterlot citizen obviously doesn't know any offensive spells. I'm not saying his fear is unjustified, just that his constant over-estimation of the average unicorn's distortive capabilities makes me chuckle.
Also, I personally thought that Gloom and Crimson took the cellar harder than I think they should have given their background. They're hardened warriors, the books says that they're not strangers to death, yet a couple corpses really rattled them. Sure, the scene was grizzly and awful, but it makes them seem more sheltered than I had originally assumed. Maybe I'm wrong, what do you think?

January 29, 2025 Chapter 29: Life is only ever Moments away from being Not
The audiobook has past 30 hours!
It's been a lot of work getting here, but it's also very rewarding having created so much audio content. I plan to keep going strong on the audiobook while I have the time, and still fully intent to finish it by the end of the year.
I'm also going to redo the first 2-3 chapters soon. I've improved a lot since I first recorded them and since they're the first chapters new listeners hear, I'd like them to be a lot nicer. They won't replace regular uploads though, I'll be releasing them as bonus third chapters in the week whenever I decide to make them
In more chapter specific commentary, how about that cellar scene huh? A very dark chapter, and honestly this marks a turning point for the story. Things are really going to pick up from here so stay tuned!

Welcome to Arc 2! And in celebration of the number 2, there are 2 changes to the audiobook!
Haha, not really, but there are 2 changes. First, as you've probably noticed, is there is new artwork for the thumbnails and video! The art is by Great Space Beaver, there is a link to their original artwork below. Check them out, they have some great art on their account, including a bunch of Prey and a Lamb fan art.
The hope is that this will make navigating the audiobook a bit easier, since there will now be an obvious visual distinction between arcs.
The second change you wouldn't have noticed, but my friend TimeSwirl is helping me with editing now! In fact, he edited this chapter for me. A big thank you to him, as it will really help me to produce these more quickly.

January 29, 2025 Chapter 24: Market Day comes to an End
Surprise! This chapter is early!
Ok, ok. I admit it. I got excited about finishing arc 1 and didn't want to wait to upload this one.
I won't do be doing that too often, as 2 chapters a week is already plenty of commitment, but occasionally I will for special occasions I'm sure.
But yay! Arc 1 is done and now things get better in arc 2! But prey got his ribbon this chapter, and that's what really matters.
Come back Wednesday for chapter 25, I'll be switching up the thumbnail art for each arc now, so yet another thing to look forward to!

January 29, 2025 Chapter 23: A Day at the Market
I'm on a bit of a roll getting chapters recorded right now! In fact, I'm recording much more than I'm editing, so I've ended up with a bunch of unedited chapters piling up haha. Luckily that part of the process isn't so hard and I have a friend that says they'll help me out with it.
Next chapter is the end of the arc, and then the story really starts to pick up. It never goes fast, it is a slow story, but a lot more happens and I think it's a big overall improvement.
