PJ, a licensed therapist from prey vs predator the podcast, reacts to the Netflix series “Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives”, pointing out how we can see the patterns of emotional abuse in Sarma’s relationship with Mr. Fox.. This show has TONS of examples of what we call “predatory behaviour” and the prey-predator dynamics of emotional abuse.
In the first episode, PJ discusses how Sarma is established as a hard-working, highly conscientious person dedicated to building a thriving business and investing in the people around her. In the language we use on our podcast, she is a quintessential ‘prey’: kind, thoughtful and people-oriented. Unfortunately, this also makes her a target for exploitation by less kind actors, individuals we refer to on this podcast as ‘predators’.
We encourage you to watch the series before listening to this episode if you want to get the most out of this breakdown!
Finally, after the show launched Sarma spoke out against how the filmmakers ended the series and the impressions this ending left audiences with. We strongly encourage everyone to check out Sarma’s instagram for more: @sarmamelngailis
