The Supreme has suggested that Savitri pass into Infinity with Satyavan. Now Savitri replies, “In vain thou temptst with solitary bliss two spirits saved out of a suffering world; … To raise the the world to God in deathless Light, to bring God down to the world on earth we came, to change the earthly life to life Divine”. The Supreme says that mankind is not ready for a rapid change. He cautions Savitri, “Lead not the spirit in an ignorant world to dare too soon the adventure of the Light.” He tells Savitri not to descend to earth; but to rise to spiritual heights, and to do her work from far beyond beyond the material world and the heavenly worlds. Savitri is the World-Mother who bears the eternity of every spirit, and she asks everything from the Supreme to bring down to earth for all mankind.

The Supreme Says Mankind Doesn’t Want to Evolve Quickly

Savitri is now speaking with the Supreme All-Consciousness in his true persona of Light and Eternal Life, just as she conversed with him when he wore his dark mask of Death. However, there are great differences in the way the Supreme speaks to Savitri. He cautions Savitri against trying to push man’s evolution too quickly out of her great love for mankind and her wish for mankind’s progress. Unlike Death, who claimed that man could never change, the Supreme says that man holds the key to unlock a conscious door, but his inconscient base holds him back and slows everything down. He says that most men are built on Nature’s early plan. They are not the more evolved beings who want to progress faster. Only a few spirits are ready for this. The Supreme knows that Savitri is the Divine Mother. He tells her to leave man’s evolution to the long act of time and to pass back into the Power from which she came.

The All-Conscious Supreme Being Speaks To Savitri

In the Bliss of God’s Everlasting Day, Savitri has seen higher and higher worlds of deathless bliss. She has experienced three aspects of the All-Conscious Supreme Being. Now he speaks to her about himself and about the state of human consciousness in the world. He tells Savitri to wait with Satyavan on earth or in the higher worlds for the moment of celestial fate when heaven and earth will become one. But Savitri tells the Supreme, “I climb not to thy everlasting day, even as I have shunned thy eternal night.” She asks him to give Satyavan back to her because their work on earth together will bring the immortal down to man and bring man nearer to God.

Savitri is in the bliss and light and beauty of God's Everlasting Day. She was able to travel through the darkness of Night on Death's road to his domain, where he was trying to take the soul of her beloved Satyavan. Death's mask of darkness was vanquished by the Divine Mother. She incarnated in Savitri because Death asked to see her. Then all became God's light. Now Savitri meets the living center and source of all higher planes and heavenly worlds. Night's dim mask had grown a wonderful face.A secret splendor is revealed to her sight and a marvelous form responds to her gaze. When Savitri sees the Supreme, she sees that he is all of creation's Grace and Glory, and all Divinity. He is Virat, the Creator and his Creation in one. Beyond she sees a third aspect of the Supreme, the Superconscience enclosed in Light, the transcendent Cause of all.

The Incarnation of the Divine Mother in Savitri has come forward. She commanded Death to release the soul of the world called Satyavan, but he refused, and when her light vanquished Death’s darkness, he ran away. The world of twilight faded from the souls of Savitri and Satyvan. Now they are surrounded by God’s Everlasting Day. Savitri feels Eternity’s touch. Her soul is close to the founts of the Infinite. She sees scenes of eternal sweetness and hears immortal harmonies and feels heaven’s rapture. Her vision reached realm upon realm of higher worlds, beyond what tongue can utter or mind can dream.

Savitri has been showing Death that the Truth is on Earth, and it is available to mankind. The Truth-Consciousness Force of the Supreme made all mankind and also made the plan of man’s evolution. She says that as mankind continues to evolve, Truth will manifest in man and through man. Now Death asks Savitri to reveal who she really is. He tells her that if the Mighty Mother – the Divine Mother – is with her, she should show Death the Divine Mother’s face, so that he can worship her. If the imperishable force of the Divine Mother transforms earth’s death into immortal life, then Satyavan can live, and he can return to Savitri. The Divine Mother manifests in Savitri. She tells Death to release Satyavan. There is a great battle of Darkness and Light. The darkness of Death is vanquished by the Eternal, all-powerful Light of the Divine Mother, and Death runs away.

Savitri has explained that all the darkness and all the light in the creation are the two sides of the one Supreme, and all of it is for the evolutionary progress of man. Now Savitri explains more about the working of Truth Supreme in the creation. She speaks about all the levels of higher mind, up to and including the Overmind plane. Then she goes on to speak of the Supramental plane, the world of the everlasting light of Truth-consciousness. She says that there sits the Mighty Mother, and there is the image of our future’s hope and the imperishable harmony. There the perfection born from eternity calls to it the perfection born in Time.

Savitri has declared that she is moved by God and that God’s spirit moves man to freedom. Death claimed that cosmic Law is greater than Savitri’s will and even God himself obeys the laws he made. Now Death admits that there is a greater being behind Savitri’s human form and personality, and that she has seen a greater Truth to come, but he says that so far she is the only one who has seen it. He claims that Truth has no home in the breast of earth, and with mortal men. Death’s truth is that nothing can bring Satyavan back to life. When Savitri answers Death, her mortality disappears and her goddess self grows visible in her eyes. She tells him that all contraries are aspects of God, the innumerable One, and everything is for the progress of evolution.

Savitri has shown her Immortality. Now she shows her Freedom. Death admits that some light and power has been delivered from the grasp of the huge Inconscient, but he cannot accept any change in the ancient laws. Death tells Savitri that even if she has the wisdom to see Truth behind physical form, her heart is violent and passionate, and therefore she wants everything to change too quickly. Savitri declares that she is moved by God, who planned her path. She says that God’s spirit is here on earth in man to be free and to build great stuff of action from the worlds and love and beauty out of war and night.

Savitri continues to hear Death’s arguments that the mind is all and the mind can never know the Truth or God. Again Death tells Savitri that he is the way to Immortality in God. He says, “Thou must die to thyself to reach God’s height: I Death am the gate of Immortality.” Savitri tells Death that the Mighty Mother’s force is in her and she has no need to escape or to avoid the play of God in the world. She says, “Already God is near, the Truth is close:… My mortal body is the Eternal’s house…. I live in the glory of the Infinite.” She tells Death that her heart has grown one with every heart, and she says, “My spirit’s liberty I ask for all.”
