**TRIGGER WARNING: Domestic violence**
This week, we answer a listener query. Her boyfriend has slept with over 100 women and her 'number' is only 3 – is this cause for concern, and why does she feel "icky" about it?
We also mark domestic violence awareness month (this October) by giving some helpful numbers out, and talking through some of the statistics around it. Scary listening, but worth mentioning to bring awareness and hopefully help someone in need (if you are in a position to donate, here is the link). If you feel you are in immediate danger, there are a number of steps you can take to help keep you safe.
- If you can, get out of the situation now.
- Ring your local Garda Station or if it is an emergency, call 999/112.
- Ring the Women's Aid National Freephone Helpline on 1800 341 900. The Helpline is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Contact your local refuge and support service. Details including opening hours and contact numbers are listed here .
- Call someone you trust and ask them to help you.
