With 35 years of experience in the fitness industry, selling equipment, owning retail locations, and owning and managing fitness centers, Don Powers saw an opportunity to provide a necessary service, a business based solely on repairing and maintaining fitness equipment.
He founded Fitness Machine Technicians, based in the Philadelphia region, in 2002 to specialize in the maintenance and repair of exercise equipment for gyms, corporations, hotels, and private residences – basically everywhere fitness equipment is used. The model was so successful that he decided to franchise the company.
Today the award-winning Fitness Machine Technicians franchise has locations in more than 90 territories across the country, with franchise opportunities currently available to sales and marketing pros interested in fitness and looking to run a service-based business based on a proven operating model. The company was ranked as one of the fastest-growing franchisees in 2019 by Entrepreneur magazine and grew from two franchisees in October 2018 to over 90 territories sold by the end of February 2020.

Craig Lucie From News Anchor to Chief Story Teller Part 1 of 2 on Capital Club Radio
Please join Michael Flock of FLOCK Specialty Finance as he interviews Craig Lucie, founder and Chief Story Teller of Lucie Content and a star in the world of broadcast media. Craig started this company to shine a light on the positive things happening in our world and to share compelling stories that resonate with your audience.
Craig has two decades of news experience with multiple EMMY nominations and has won an EMMY for Best News Anchor. He has also received several AP Awards for his reporting and contributed reports to newscasts that have won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow awards. The Georgia Association of Broadcasters also recognized him as the best on-air personality in the state, and the Atlanta Business Chronicle named him as one of the 40 Under 40 recipients. Craig has appeared on ABC’s World News Tonight, CNN, MSNBC, FOX News and HLN. He was recently one of a few journalists invited to have dinner with President Donald Trump in the State Dining Room of The White House while covering a State of the Union Address.
Craig graduated from Southern Methodist University. He and his wife reside in Atlanta and they have two children.
Here is a glimpse of what Craig shared in the interview:
“If it’s told in a compelling way, it will get shared. When it’s shared, it drives conversations. When conversations are sparked about your brand, that is the key to marketing.”
“You change the perception. It’s all about companies and non-profits controlling their message, putting out their own content because in many cases a lot of these bigger companies have a massive social media following across Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. You might have 100,000 followers on Facebook. Why aren’t you giving them great content? They’re engaged in your brand.”
“Same thing, we’re pushing out these tweets, Instagram posts, Facebook posts to drive traffic to our content, which is living on our client’s website. So, we’re driving traffic to their sites.”

Here is a glimpse of what Craig shared in the interview:
“Throughout this experience, I’ve almost come to the realization that there are two types of people in business. There are people who want to go out there and start a business and run a business; then there are people who just need to be put on the path to help that particular business succeed who have wonderful, fresh ideas.”
“Fortunately, things are going well. The sky’s the limit, is what I say, the sky is the limit.”
“When I was run over by a boat when I was in 5th grade, it was a big learning experience. I learned if you fight hard enough and you work hard enough, you will achieve what you want to achieve. When I had to fight to learn to walk again, I came back stronger as an athlete and that has helped in business as well.”
