  • Nosebleed Seats Podcast: Cowboys conversation and a farewell to Jay Gruden
In today's episode of the Nosebleed Seats, the fellas give their week five NFL observations. Wolchuk notes the Cleveland Browns as his biggest takeaway from the week, and he has some shots to fire at Baker Mayfield. Chiofalo thinks the Patriots have a lot of work to do at certain spots of the roster even though they are undefeated.

Cowboys Conversation is another sad sulking Wolchuk defending his silver and blue honor after the loss to the Packers. The good news is, they get Adam Gase in week 6. Whats the Cowboys biggest issue right now, and would Wolchuk be down for another Amari Cooper type trade like last year?

We send a farewell to Jay Gruden the only way we can while his brother Jon steps up for us in a big, big way.

Which quarterback did both guys believe that fantasy owners should add immediately? What backup running back did the Fantasy Fixers advise to pick up as a speculative add? How do the Fantasy Fixers think fantasy owners should fix the thinnest position in fantasy football?

  • Handle Your Business Podcast: Questions surround the Jay Gruden firing
On this week's episode of Handle Your Business, I will take a look at the leaked video of Jay Gruden, the embattled head coach of the Washington Redskins, and ask why is this surfacing now. I will remind you of the case of Scot McLoughan, the former general manager of the Redskins, who was fired for showing up to work drunk. I will tell you the story of how that story sprung up from nowhere and how the Redskins were able to fire McLoughan without having to pay him the balance of his deal. Finally, I will tell you what this story says about the Redskins organization and the state that it's in.
Along with that, you will hear about a big deal the NFL made with the referees. There will not be a repeat of the infamous "Fail Mary" in Seattle that replacement referees botched all those years ago. I will also report on the rumors swirling around Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs. You will find out what the cap implications are for a trade if it were to happen this month.

  • Any Given Friday: Todd Gurley and NFL first quarter in review
This week on the Any Given Friday podcast, we cover the weird Todd Gurley situation, their surprise teams from the first quarter of the season, and their game of the week. Tune in down below to listen.
With Todd Gurley, we discuss the strange injury history he's had. Running backs in the NFL have had knee issues in the past, but Gurley has arthritis in his knee. This is something that is not common amongst younger players and is something to watch out for with Gurley and his team. Could the Los Angeles Rams be hiding the severity of Gurley's injury?
The NFL has been through a crazy four weeks, and our two surprise teams have been the San Francisco 49ers and the Detroit Lions. Both sides will need to keep up their pace if they want to be taken as legit contenders. Our two teams of disappointment have been the Los Angeles Chargers and Minnesota Vikings. Listen in to see who we dislike the most.
We finish with our game of the week and look to improve from our horrible game of the week last Sunday.

  • NFL Picks: Eagles soar and the Jets stay grounded | Against the spread
    Eagles will dominate the Jets
Put, these are two teams heading in vastly different directions. The Eagles are hoping to win this soft matchup, as well as catch a potential break-in Dallas if Green Bay can swipe a victory from the Cowboys.
Knowing that the Eagles can end the day with a share of first place in the NFC with a Packers win in Dallas, expect Philly to come out swinging like a heavyweight fighter against the hapless Jets.
With Sam Darnold still at risk with his health and dealing with mononucleosis, Luke Falk may get the call on the road, in a tough environment, albeit against a susceptible secondary.
Slight defensive limitations aside, the 13.5 spread does not scare the Against the Spread hosts. This play of the Eagles is as safe as can be with the Jets not showing much life thus far this season.
The Eagles are getting healthier, and this could be a game that is over before halftime. Carson Wentz is getting his targets back to full strength, and the running attacks are multi-faceted with Justin Howard, Miles Sanders, and veteran Darren Sproles.
The Birds fly high at home, and the Jets stay grounded on I-95.
The Pack to attack Big D?
Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers are Devante Adams-less heading into a significant NFC clash in Dallas this Sunday. 3.5 points favor the Cowboys, and while this could be a shootout game, look for it to go down to the wire in what could even be a walk-off win.
When looking at the NFL picks for Week 5, the "over" can certainly be enticing with the offensive talent on the field.
Look for Rodgers to utilize his other targets, and perhaps lean on tight end Jimmy Graham more with Adams dealing with turf toe. Aaron Jones will certainly be relied upon as well with a limited receiving corps.
On the Dallas side of things, look for Ezekiel Elliot to take advantage of a lackluster Packers run defense, which should soften the blow of the injured Tyron Smith out indefinitely. Dak Prescott, meanwhile, looks to rebound from a poor offensive performance last week in New Orleans.

  • Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns impress, and Cowboys fall | Nosebleed Seats
Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns impress
If not for a game-winning drive from Patrick Mahomes, the Detroit Lions would still be undefeated and the talk of the town. Despite the loss against the Kansas City Chiefs and the tie to the Arizona Cardinals, the Lions could be getting more talk. They have been sneaky good, and that includes the close and uncomfortable wins against the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles. Those wins were not the best, but the Lions have been better. They played a great game against the Chiefs, but ultimately the Chiefs took it home.
Jarvis Landry came alive for the Cleveland Browns in a win against the Baltimore Ravens. Somehow the Browns are first in their division, and the Ravens look like an afterthought. This was a game where Jarvis had 150-yards on just eight catches, and he wasn't even the main topic. Nick Chubb was the star in the win for the Browns and showed just how dangerous the Browns rushing game could be. This game for Chubb is only one of the dangerous rushing attacks the Browns have. They still have Kareem Hunt when he comes off suspension.
    Dallas Cowboys lose on primetime
The Dallas Cowboys were not at their best on Sunday night. They lost to the New Orleans Saints in a game in which the Saints kicked four field goals. Dak Prescott threw 223-yards and a pick on 22/33 attempts and looked like Dak again. Even Ezekiel Elliott was off and had 19 rushing attempts for 35-yards and a 1.9-yard average. It was an overall bad performance from the Cowboys, and they were brought back down to earth. They will need to figure out what happened quickly as they play the Green Bay Packers this Sunday. This does get easy afterward as they face the Jets, Giants, and Vikings in the four weeks following.
    Questions from the podcast team?
Who impressed you more, the Detroit Lions or the Cleveland Browns?
Can the Dallas Cowboys bounce back this weekend against the Green Bay Packers?

  • Fantasy football Week 4 takeaways and wavier wire advice | The Fantasy Fixers
    Pick Up City
Looking for a quarterback to help sting the pain of drafting Kirk Cousins? This week's waiver wire has some options for fantasy owners. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston had a huge Week 4 with 385 passing yards and four touchdowns. The Fantasy Fixers is one of the top options for fantasy owners, as well as Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew, led the Jaguars to a comeback victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 4 and Minshew Mania should be added to your roster.
Ronald Jones is finally living up to his hype with 82 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. The Fantasy Fixers believe Jones has taken over the featured back role over Peyton Barber. The Fantasy Fixers like what they saw with the Philadelphia Eagles Jordan Howard. His stock is rising and looks to have upside in that Eagles offense and on your fantasy lineups.
If you are looking to add players, fantasy football owners have to drop a player off their roster. The Fantasy Fixers suggest dropping quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is having a horrible season. The Los Angeles Chargers running back Justin Jackson has the look of a roster casualty with an injury keeping him out for a multi-game absence. All fantasy owners are aware of the great news on the return of Melvin Gordon, which will also deem Jackson expendable on fantasy rosters. Also, find out which Chicago Bears wide receiver has been a disappointment and can be dropped?
    Who do you love?
The Fantasy Fixers take a look at each position and ask the question, who do you love in Week 5? Should you start Andy Dalton against the Arizona Cardinals or Kyle Murray against the Cincinnati Bengals? Tyler Boyd vs. Arizona Cardinals or Sterling Shepard vs. Minnesota Vikings? Darren Waller vs. Chicago Bears or Greg Olsen vs. Jacksonville Jaguars?
Find out who the Fantasy Fixers selected in each of those player matchups.
    Question from the Podcast team
How will the return of Melvin Gordon affect the fantasy value of Austin Ekeler?
Who are the top waiver-wire targets for Week 5?
Which players are the biggest surprises and busts after four games?
Who is the Fantasy MVP at the quarter mark of the 2019 season?

  • Domestic violence in the NFL with its coaches | Handle your business
USA Today reveals that four assistant coaches have been involved with domestic violence
An article in USA Today revealed that four assistant coaches currently with NFL teams have incidents with domestic violence in their past. The author of the piece, Rachel Axon (@RachelAxon on Twitter), joins George to discuss the work she and a team of journalists did to find this out.
Axon and her team looked into the 700 coaches listed on NFL websites to see if any of them had a record with these issues. Also broached was the personal conduct policy in the NFL's Collective Bargaining Agreement and why it isn't applied to management and coaches as it is to players. Rachel and George also talk about whether the NFL needs to issues new rules when it comes to NFL teams and there hiring practices for management and coaches.
Super Bowl halftime act announced and other news
It looks as if the NFL's deal with Jay-Z and Roc Nation is already paying dividends as Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will headline this year's Super Bowl halftime show in Miami. The two stars make history as the first Latina women to perform at the halftime show. This could have been the chance for the NFL to grab Mr. 305 himself Pitbull, but Lopez and Shakira will work just as well.
After meeting opposition from NFL Players Association chief DeMaurice Smith on an 18-game season, the NFL dropped the idea but wants a 17-game regular season with fewer preseason games. The NFL would lose the fourth preseason game, which would essentially allow the chance for them to get their extra regular season game.
    Questions for the podcast team
Should the NFL institute a personal conduct policy for management and coaches?
Are you excited to see Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in the Super Bowl halftime show?
Do you want to see a 17-game regular season?

  • Young quarterbacks go 50/50 and Melvin Gordon returns | Any given Friday
    Young quarterbacks - 50/50 start
Last week, Eric and Kai'Chien gave their young quarterbacks to look for in Week 3. They covered Josh Rosen, Kyle Allen, Mason Rudolph, and Teddy Bridgewater. This week they gave us their grades for each quarterback.
Josh Rosen didn't get the help during the Sunday 1:00 pm EST matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Rosen and his Miami Dolphins team were in a perfect position and left 14 points on the field before the end of the first half. From a 6-10 scoreline to a 31-6 finish. It wasn't game-changing by any means from Rosen, but there was a little bit of promise from the young quarterback. The Dolphins will look for competition no matter what, and Rosen will have to prove he's the guy.
Kyle Allen tore it up and could take over for good in Carolina if Cam Newton never gets back to his MVP play. Unfortunately, Mason Rudolph and Teddy Bridgewater were not that great. They both had subpar performances, and Bridgewater just managed the game for the New Orleans Saints. Rudolph failed to do this despite his team forcing 5 turnovers against the 3-0 San Fransisco 49ers.
    Melvin Gordon - Holdout OVER
One of the forgotten but not forgotten stories of the year has been the Melvin Gordon holdout. Gordon has held out for a new contract from the Los Angeles Chargers, but nothing has moved towards a new deal. Initially, the thought was that Gordon would come back when he needed to towards the tail-end of the season. Alas, Gordon is back and is certainly feeling the pressure as the Chargers rushing game has still looked good without him.
The choice to comeback is a good one for Gordon because if the Chargers continued to strive on the ground without him, a deal would not be guaranteed. The Chargers have seen what a Hall of Fame running back is. They know what the worth is and IF they pay Gordon, he will need to break out this season.
    Questions From The Podcast Team
Which young quarterback did you like the most this past weekend?
Will Melvin Gordon get his money from the Los Angeles Chargers?
Which young quarterback is the future for their respective team?
