  • MP Evans posts record 2024 results, eyes growth
MP Evans Group PLC (AIM:MPE) CEO Matthew Coulson takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s record results for 2024 and the strong start to 2025.
MP Evans Group reported a robust financial performance in 2024, with Coulson confirming a record profit and a 66% increase in earnings per share. “It’s been a fantastic year for the group,” Coulson said, noting that high pricing supported the result, with prices averaging around $820 per tonne for the year.
The company processed 1.6 million tonnes of crop in 2024, maintaining output despite weather-related challenges in Indonesia. Coulson highlighted this achievement in context: while Indonesia saw a slight national decline in crop yield, MP Evans sustained high volumes, reflecting operational resilience.
Planting activity also continued across its operations, particularly in South Sumatra and East Kalimantan. The company expects to exceed 11,000 hectares planted at its Musi Rawas estate in early 2025, while its ABK site in East Kalimantan is set for more extensive development this year.
Coulson also noted a milestone in sustainability, with over 250,000 tonnes of certified sustainable output processed across the company’s six mills in 2024.
Looking ahead, he said 2025 had started positively, with pricing in the first two months averaging $870 per tonne, and the company is actively exploring acquisition opportunities.

  • Newmark Security CEO on growth drivers, expanding D2E model globally
Newmark Security PLC CEO Marie-Claire Dwek talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s latest trading update, which highlighted stronger revenue performance in the second half of the financial year. Dwek said the growth was primarily driven by the Human Capital Management (HCM) division, especially in North America, where both hardware and service-related sales have increased.
She explained, “The more clocks we sell, the more recurring revenue we sell, the more services we sell.” This growth model is being further supported by a Direct to End user approach, with active integrations already in place with Oracle and Workday, and further development underway with SAP.
Dwek also spoke about their efforts to diversify, including moves into lower-cost market segments, which are typically dominated by Chinese manufacturers. This allows Newmark to capture new customer groups while maintaining service-based revenue opportunities.
Outside North America, Newmark continues to see growth in Europe, citing customers like Marks & Spencer and Protime. The company is also building pipeline opportunities in collaboration with Oracle and is working on exclusivity in North America with one partner.
Dwek described this as “a whole new market for us that was previously untapped.”

Digitalbox PLC (AIM:DBOX) CEO James Carter takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company’s strong 2024 performance and its strategy heading into 2025.
The company delivered a 31% increase in revenue during the year, with Carter describing it as “a good turnaround year.” He pointed to audience growth that outperformed broader news media trends, and revenue growth that exceeded global digital advertising market averages.
Carter credited the success to the strength of Digitalbox’s brands and editorial teams, as well as the company’s in-house Graphene Ad Stack technology. “The editorial teams are really very well tuned into what their audiences want,” he said.
Among standout performers were TV Guide, which achieved 90% traffic growth in Q4 following a move to a web app format, and The Tab, which benefited from social media asset integration. The Poke also saw a 22% increase in traffic following increased content investment.
The company expanded its portfolio from six to eight brands in 2024, aiming to reach ten by the end of 2025.
Looking ahead, Carter said 2025 is in line with expectations so far, and Digitalbox remains “cautiously optimistic” amid projected 10% growth in the digital ad market.

  • Firefly Metals hits high-grade copper-gold at Green Bay
Firefly Metals Ltd managing director Steve Parsons talked with Proactive about the company’s latest drill results from the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project.
Parsons highlighted a series of significant intercepts from ongoing infill drilling, including a standout result of 14.2 metres at 7.5% copper equivalent. These results are part of an effort to upgrade the current 24.4 million-ton resource into the indicated category, which is essential for progressing the company’s engineering studies and maintaining ASX compliance.
“In some of those infill zones, we’re seeing 50 metres or more at over 2% copper with gold,” Parsons said, underlining the robust nature of the mineralised system.
Firefly currently has five underground rigs active, with three focused on infill drilling and two on step-out drilling aimed at further growing the resource. The company expects new results in the coming weeks and is also preparing to commence regional exploration drilling within a ten-kilometre radius of the planned processing plant.
Parsons noted the geological potential of the area, stating that VMS high-grade copper-gold systems “typically find more than one,” expressing optimism about upcoming exploration.

  • AuKing prepares for gold mining at Mt Freda site
AuKing Mining Ltd managing director Paul Williams talked with Proactive about the company's latest update on its Cloncurry Project in Queensland, focusing on the Mt Freda deposit. Williams confirmed that with Orion Resources nearing acquisition completion, AuKing is preparing to restart mining operations at the historical Mt Freda gold mine.
Williams highlighted Mt Freda as a top target for redevelopment due to its existing mining lease and approvals, as well as a current resource estimate of around 100,000oz. "We really don't want to start a mining operation unless we've got reserves in the resource estimate," he explained, outlining the company’s aim to confirm and expand those figures through an upcoming drilling program.
In addition to resource verification, AuKing is evaluating two processing options: existing vat leaching pits and a nearby cavern in-leach circuit at Lorena. Williams also noted the broader potential in the surrounding six square kilometre Mt Freda Complex, which contains multiple historical deposits, hinting at further exploration upside.
Drilling is expected to start within weeks of the acquisition's financial close in April, with results anticipated in the months following. Williams described the program as "a fascinating exercise," indicating renewed momentum behind the restart strategy.

  • Fineqia International CEO unveils first DeFi yield ETP
Fineqia International Inc (CSE:FNQ, OTC:FNQQF) CEO Bundeep Singh Rangar talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about launching the world’s first exchange-traded product (ETP) that deploys digital assets in yield-bearing decentralized finance (DeFi). Rangar explained the product's unique value, providing access to DeFi yield through a transparent, regulated security listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.
The Fineqia FTSE Cardano Enhanced Yield ETN (AV:YADA) is based on the Cardano network, a top ten cryptocurrency valued at over $35 billion, and allows investors to participate in DeFi activities such as borrowing, lending, and validating transactions, which generate fees. Unlike traditional ETFs and ETNs, Fineqia's product reinvests 80% of these yields back to investors, making it a truly innovative approach.
Rangar highlighted the importance of partnering with FTSE Russell, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange, to ensure robust pricing data for this groundbreaking product. He added, "This is an icebreaker for what we want to do in the industry... We’re about being innovative and different."
This collaboration sets a milestone for the ETP industry by combining blockchain technology and traditional finance, giving fund managers and retail investors easy access to decentralized finance through a familiar financial instrument.

  • atai CEO outlines strategic focus for 2025 including four major data readouts
atai Life Sciences (NASDAQ:ATAI, ETR:9VC) CEO and co-founder Dr Srinivas Rao talked with Proactive about the company's upcoming clinical milestones and strategic focus in 2025. Rao outlined four major clinical readouts across atai’s pipeline of short-duration psychedelics, including updates on VLS-01, BPL-003, RL-007 and EMP-01.
The company has dosed its first patient in the VLS-01 trial for treatment-resistant depression, a study that includes an innovative two-dose approach. Rao noted, “This will be the first data set that's going to come out that really addresses the question of what is the incremental benefit of a re-dose?” The trial is expected to read out in Q1 of next year.
The BPL-003 trial has completed enrolment and is expected to report results mid-year, alongside RL-007, which targets cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia. EMP-01, which focuses on social anxiety disorder, is also underway with data expected around the same time as VLS-01.
Rao also highlighted that atai recently raised additional capital, extending its funding runway into 2027. The company is focused on short-duration psychedelics with easy-to-administer formulations, such as VLS-01's oral strip delivery system.

  • Atrato Partners on Social Housing REIT (SOHO): strategy, debt and dividend outlook
Atrato Partners, the newly appointed Investment Manager of Social Housing REIT (SOHO) talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the current state of the specialised supported housing sector and how the company is tackling key challenges within its portfolio.
Fund manager Adrian D'Enrico was joined by Michael Carey and Natalie Markham, offering a comprehensive update on SOHO’s operational and financial performance.
D'Enrico addressed common misconceptions about the sector, clarifying that it is not temporary or homeless accommodation, but instead provides long-term homes for adults with care needs. “A misconception as well is that specialised supported housing is a passive investment based on the long lease,” he explained, underlining the importance of resident occupancy and the operational real estate nature of the assets.
Carey detailed the steps taken to resolve issues with Parasol and My Space Housing Solutions, including lease transfers to stronger providers, which are expected to improve rent collection. “We’ve collected 72% of the contracted amount so far with Westmoreland, and we’re confident we’ll meet our target,” he said.
Markham reviewed the FY24 results, noting that while net tangible assets declined to £0.99 per share, rent collection stood at 93% and the company maintains strong debt metrics with an average maturity of 8.6 years and a 2.74% all-in cost.

  • Light Science Technologies CEO on Injecta Fire Barrier solution to UK's unsafe cladding dilemma
Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC (AIM:LST) CEO Simon Deacon talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the significant opportunity surrounding the company’s Injecta Fire Barrier solution, particularly in light of ongoing fire safety issues in the UK’s residential building sector.
Deacon highlighted that the UK still has more than 33,000 buildings between 11m and 18m in height, and over 11,000 high-risk buildings above 18m, that require urgent fire protection measures. He referenced a government estimate suggesting a potential £22 billion cost to address the cladding crisis, which has persisted since the Grenfell tragedy.
The Injecta Fire Barrier, acquired in late 2023, offers what Deacon described as a "unique solution"—one that avoids facade removal by injecting fire-resistant material directly into cavities, providing over two hours of fire resistance. He said, "We're three times less in cost and much quicker to install than traditional methods."
He noted the division secured £2.7 million in orders during 2024, performing strongly and receiving positive feedback for its efficiency and clean delivery. With an average order value over £500,000 and significant market scope, Deacon framed the opportunity as a scalable revenue driver for the group.
The company is targeting £50 million in revenue over the next five years, with Injecta Fire Barrier expected to be a key growth driver.
