  • Peninsula Energy makes strong progress with Lance Uranium Project; targets Q4 restart
Peninsula Energy Ltd (ASX:PEN, OTCQB:PENMF) CEO Wayne Heili discusses the company's progress at the Lance Uranium Project in Wyoming in the US with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion.
Heili emphasised that the project remains on track to restart production by late 2024. Key milestones reached in August include the expansion of plant facilities and significant construction work, with around 70 workers on-site operating around the clock.
“We're preparing wellfield areas for production,” Heili shared, adding that the company is close to completing mine unit three, a new mining area. Additionally, Heili provided insights into the uranium market, noting that both the spot and term markets converged around $80 per pound at the end of August, providing strong incentives for uranium producers like Peninsula to ramp up production.
Heili also pointed out that the uranium market is expected to strengthen as activity picks up in the fourth quarter. With all signals positive, Peninsula Energy looks forward to resuming operations at Lance later this year.

  • Great Southern Copper expands drilling targets at Mostaza mine in Chile
Great Southern Copper PLC (LSE:GSCU) managing director Sam Garrett discusses the expansion of drilling targets at the Mostaza mine at the Cerro Negro project in Chile with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion.
Garrett highlighted the discovery of significant zones of low-grade mineralization surrounding the original high-grade deposit. This expansion could significantly increase the scale of their upcoming maiden drill program.
Garrett mentioned that historical drilling hasn't found the edges of the system, indicating a large volume of copper that still needs to be fully explored. He emphasised the importance of this discovery, given the current favourable copper prices and advancements in technology. The company is currently finalising preparations for the drill program, including environmental and archaeological surveys and negotiations with local communities.
"We're well into it, and we're looking forward to getting started," Garrett said, noting that exploration efforts continue across the broader Especularita project, with teams actively working on sampling and mapping other licenses.

Ecora Resources PLC (LSE:ECOR, TSX:ECOR, OTCQX:ECRAF) CEO Marc Bishop Lafleche takes Proactive's Stephen Gunnion through the company's strong first-half results for 2024. Lafleche highlighted a 15% portfolio contribution increase, driven by robust Kestrel volumes, which generated approximately $52 million in revenue. • FTSE 100 edges higher; Vistry gains on buybacks while ASOS soars - Market Report
London's FTSE 100 just ticked up on Thursday morning, following a steady decline so far this week.
A busier day in London brought several reports, including from ABF, which led the FTSE 100’s fallers early on after revealing subsidiary Primark faced a drop in first-half sales.
Housebuilder Vistry climbed in the meantime, having announced £130 million worth of buybacks on the back of a jump in sales and profit over the first half.
Currys slipped after reporting enthusiasm around AI-enabled products was growing in the UK and Ireland, but subdued conditions remained in the Nordics.
And finally, news that ASOS was to create a joint venture and offload a majority stake in its Topshop and Topman brands to the parent of Denmark’s Bestseller saw shares soar as the market opened.

  • Maximus Resources advances lithium drilling at Lefroy JV
Maximus Resources Ltd (ASX:MXR, OTC:MXRRF) managing director Tim Wither joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss a reverse circulation drill program at the Bird Rock and Kandui lithium prospects in Western Australia as part of the Lefroy Lithium Joint Venture with Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR).
The program includes 14 holes covering approximately 1,500 metres with nine holes targeting newly discovered spodumene-bearing pegmatites at Bird Rock and five holes at Kandui to further assess the continuity of mineralisation.
The drilling at Bird Rock aims to understand the pegmatite's dip and direction. At Kandui, this third phase of drilling follows geological modelling and aims to explore large, spodumene-bearing pegmatites identified in previous phases. Although initial lithium grades were lower than expected, the discovery of fertile pegmatites points to potential high-grade zones. Notable previous intersections include 6 metres at 1.11% Li2O and 18 metres at 0.24% Li2O.
Under the JV, KOMIR is funding up to US$3 million for lithium exploration to earn a 30% interest. Drilling results are expected within 3-6 weeks, and a site visit by KOMIR is planned for October.

  • U.S. Global’s Jets ETF Expands Reach with New Listing on Colombian Securities Exchange
U.S. Global Investors CEO Frank Holmes joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce a significant development for the company’s airlines-focused fund, the U.S. Global Jets ETF. This fund, which has gained considerable attention since its inception, has now secured a listing on the Colombian Securities Exchange, Bolsa de Valores de Colombia. This move marks a strategic expansion for the ETF, further solidifying its footprint across Latin America and providing Colombian investors with seamless access to the fund.
Originally launched on the New York Stock Exchange in 2015, the U.S. Global Jets ETF has steadily increased its global presence. The fund first expanded into Latin America in 2020 with approval for trading on the Lima Stock Exchange in Peru. Following this, in 2021, the ETF made its entry into the Mexican market. Now, with the listing in Colombia, the ETF is poised to attract a new wave of investors in a region where the airline industry is increasingly recognized as a vital economic driver.
During the interview, Holmes highlighted Colombia's impressive recovery and growth in the tourism sector, citing insights from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). According to the OECD, Colombia has emerged as the global leader in terms of the most positive percentage change in international tourist arrivals. Despite the global challenges posed by the pandemic, Colombia saw a 4% increase in tourist numbers between 2019 and 2022, a remarkable achievement at a time when most countries were still grappling with the impact of the health crisis.
Holmes emphasized the Colombian government's commitment to making tourism a cornerstone of its economy, with ambitious plans to attract 7.5 million non-resident visitors by 2026. This focus on tourism aligns with broader global trends, as reported by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), which noted that the travel sector contributed 9% to the global economy last year. This contribution represents a substantial 23.2% increase from 2022, underscoring the resilience and growing importance of the travel industry worldwide.

  • Arrow Exploration’s Third Horizontal Well on Carrizales Norte Pad Surpasses Production Expectations
Arrow Exploration CEO Marshall Abbott joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the company’s latest operational success with Steve Darling from Proactive. Abbott revealed that the third horizontal well on the Carrizales Norte “B” pad, known as CNB HZ-4, has begun production and is significantly exceeding initial expectations. The well currently boasts a flow rate exceeding 2,500 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) gross, and production is still on the rise.
The CNB HZ-4 well, which was drilled to a total measured depth of 13,335 feet, includes a horizontal section spanning approximately 3,940 feet. It commenced production on August 26, 2024, utilizing an electric submersible pump (ESP). Despite a current 8% water cut while still recovering load fluid, management expects the well to achieve initial production (IP) rates comparable to the company’s first two horizontal wells on the pad. Early results indicate that CNB HZ-4 displays similar reservoir characteristics to the previously successful CNB HZ-1.
In addition to this operational achievement, Abbott shared the company’s impressive financial performance for the second quarter of 2024. Arrow Exploration recorded total oil and natural gas revenue, net of royalties, of $15.1 million, representing a 47% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The company reported a net income of $1.2 million and an adjusted EBITDA of $8.9 million, marking a 53% increase from the previous year. Arrow also maintained a strong cash position of $10.8 million at the end of Q2 2024 and generated operating cash flows of $15.7 million during the first half of the year.
This combination of strong production results and robust financial performance highlights Arrow Exploration's continued growth and success in the energy sector.
