  • FPX Nickel’s Baptiste Project Gains Strategic Boost as Part of BC’s Critical Minerals Initiative
FPX Nickel CEO Martin Turenne joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss significant news for the company: the Baptiste Nickel Project has been chosen to participate in the Province of British Columbia's newly established Critical Minerals Office (CMO) concierge service initiative.
Turenne explained that this designation is a key strategic action for prioritizing critical minerals projects within the province. The CMO will serve as a central entry point into various natural resource sector agencies, offering essential support for advancing projects like Baptiste. This initiative also aims to leverage potential project funding opportunities from both provincial and federal sources, providing a substantial boost to the project’s development.
A CMO working group will convene regularly to tackle issues and explore opportunities related to Baptiste's advancement, with a particular emphasis on fostering collaborative decision-making processes with First Nation communities. The goal is to define the project together, ensuring that it aligns with the shared interests of all stakeholders.
The Critical Minerals Office, established as a cornerstone of British Columbia's Critical Minerals Strategy in early 2024, is focused on several key objectives: expanding partnerships with First Nations, enhancing shared decision-making and reconciliation efforts, increasing business certainty to attract investment, and establishing funding partnerships to drive the advancement of critical mineral projects throughout the province.
This strategic initiative not only underscores the importance of the Baptiste Nickel Project but also highlights the province’s commitment to positioning itself as a leader in the critical minerals sector, which is vital for the future of sustainable and high-tech industries.

  • FTSE 100 falls as Nvidia weighs on sentiment; Barratt Developments and M&G decline - Market Report
London's FTSE 100 faced another fall on Wednesday morning as few of the index’s constituents opened the day in positive territory.
This followed a near 10% drop in Nvidia shares on Tuesday on news the company was being probed over potential antitrust violations, which prompted a wider tech sell-off.
Back in London, Barratt Developments was among reporters, with the housebuilder falling after slashing its dividend on the back of lower earnings for the year.
Fund manager M&G also moved lower early on following its report of a net outflow and drop in profit over the first half of the year.
Insurer Direct Line offered a more positive update, reporting interim dividend payments would resume after it returned to profit during the first half.
And finally, warehouse property developer Segro announced it had agreed an all-share takeover offer of Tritax Eurobox.

  • Intra Energy Corp identifies lithium and gold systems at MHH
Intra Energy Corporation Ltd (ASX: IEC) principal geologist Todd Hibberd joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to talk through results from a 1,960-metre reconnaissance drilling program at the Maggie Hays Hill (MHH) Project in the Lake Johnston Greenstone Belt, Western Australia.
The company has identified large-scale lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) and gold systems. The LCT system extends over two kilometres with lithium grades peaking at 0.24%, alongside niobium and tantalum concentrations reaching 499 ppm and 788 ppm, respectively.
Drilling tested seven pegmatites across 1,300 metres, revealing a broad LCT system enriched in several elements. Future efforts will aim to locate the core of the lithium system through additional geochemical analysis and further drilling, especially in untested areas to the west, east and north of the initial targets.
The gold system, identified in the northern and central targets, exhibited low-grade mineralisation. Best results from the northern area included 2 metres at 0.3 g/t gold and 19 metres at 0.1 g/t gold, with notable base metal enrichment. While mineralisation was confirmed at both east and west reefs, the narrow and variable gold deposits suggest no further exploration is planned for these reefs.

  • Elixir Energy confirms upper zone flow at Daydream-2
Elixir Energy Ltd (ASX:EXR, OTC:ELXPF) managing director Neil Young joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss it’s Daydream-2 well progress, located at the Project Grandis site in Queensland.
The company has confirmed a production logging tool (PLT) has been used to evaluate the majority of the key stimulated zones of the Daydream-2 well. The analysis confirms that the upper zones are contributing to the flow, though the lower zone is currently dominating. Fluid and proppant accumulation at the bottom of the well is affecting the optimal flow rate.
The company plans to bring back the Coil Tubing Unit (CTU), which is currently deployed with a neighbouring operator, to the Daydream-2 site. This will allow for nitrogen lift and clean-out procedures to improve the flow rate. This work is expected to occur before the end of the month but depends on the pace of operations at the neighbouring site.
Young expressed satisfaction with the confirmation of flow from the upper zones, despite a slight delay in operations. He highlighted that the delays are due to increased activity in the Taroom Trough, which is becoming increasingly significant for Australia's gas supply.

  • OzAurum Resources identifies new niobium anomaly at Salitre in Brazil
OzAurum Resources Ltd (ASX:OZM) has identified a new niobium anomaly at its 100%-owned Salitre Project in Brazil based on recent soil sampling results. The anomaly spans a strike length of 1 kilometre with peak niobium values reaching 190 ppm.
This discovery was part of a reconnaissance geological fieldwork and soil sampling program aimed at exploring circular features identified through hyperspectral interpretation.
The program detected anomalous niobium mineralisation in soil accompanied by ultraviolet (UV) anomalies indicative of carbonatite intrusions, which are key sources of niobium and rare earth elements (REE). The highest total rare earth oxide (TREO) value recorded was 614 ppm.
Salitre is within the Alto Paranaba Magmatic Province (APMP) in Brazil, known for its carbonatite intrusions that produce 97% of the world’s niobium.
OzAurum plans follow-up soil sampling over a 1.2-square-kilometre area and is prepared to begin drilling once environmental permits and landholder approvals are obtained.
The company views the Salitre and Catalao projects as significant exploration opportunities within APMP, with ongoing evaluations of other prospects, including lithium, in the region.

International Graphite Ltd (ASX: IG6) managing director and CEO Andrew Worland join’s Proactive’s Tylah Tully after recently hosting Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at its processing and research and development facility in Collie, Western Australia.
The visit highlighted the company's significant contributions to Australia's critical minerals industry. The Collie facility is the first of its kind in Australia and forms a key part of International Graphite’s mine-to-market strategy, which includes the development of the Springfield Graphite Project - one of Australia’s largest graphite resources - and downstream processing at Collie.
Prime Minister Albanese was accompanied by Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen, Assistant Minister Josh Wilson and several Western Australian Government representatives. The visit underscores the government’s support and interest in the growth of Australia’s critical minerals sector.
The Collie facility operates as a pilot-scale micronising and spheroidising plant, producing graphite products for customer testing in various industries, including battery materials, defence, plastics, lubricants and aerospace. International Graphite plans to expand operations at the facility to a capacity of 4,000 tonnes of micronised product per year, supported by a $4.5 million grant from the WA Government awarded in April.
