  • Tungsten Metals' upcoming IPO: key insights from chairman Tony Adcock
Tungsten Metals Group Ltd. executive chairman Tony Adcock discusses the company’s upcoming IPO on the ASX with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion.
Adcock highlighted the unique position of Tungsten Metals as the only processing plant capable of handling over 500 tonnes of tungsten annually outside of China and Russia. He emphasised the company’s strategic location in Vietnam, which reduces supply chain risks and meets stringent ESG standards.
Adcock also discussed the current supply and demand dynamics in the tungsten market, noting China’s recent export restrictions and the growing importance of critical minerals. With established production facilities and significant cash flow from operations, Tungsten Metals aims to raise A$12-14 million through its IPO to scale production and meet global demand.
"The rationale for that is really just access to global capital markets. But it's also to be able to scale up and supply, to meet the ... demand that's coming from different parts of the world."

  • Deutsche E-Metalle advances ESG goals with Digbee assessment
Digbee founder and CEO Jamie Strauss and Deutsche E-Metalle AG CEO Dr Micha Zauner discuss the company's strategic advancements following its second Digbee ESG assessment.
Zauner told Proactive's Stephen Gunnion that the improvement from a B to BB rating reflects the company's strong commitment to ESG goals. He detailed how the assessment aids in guiding the company's efforts in Argentina's Carachi Blanco project, ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders, and meeting the rigorous standards of the German downstream industry.
Since its founding in 2021, Deutsche E-Metalle has embedded ESG principles into its core operations. Zauner highlighted the importance of not just discussing ESG but implementing it actively, which the Digbee assessment has facilitated. The assessment also positions the company favorably with Germany's critical raw materials fund, aimed at supporting the German energy transition. Over the next 12 months, the company plans to commence drilling and further its exploration efforts, prioritizing community engagement and local workforce development.
The conversation also covered the broader context of Germany's energy transition and the reliance on critical metal imports. Zauner emphasised the importance of establishing an ecosystem of junior mining companies to secure a reliable supply chain and avoid future energy crises.
Strauss underscored the significance of responsible operations in modern mining, praising DEM for its early adoption of robust ESG practices. He noted that this approach not only secures social licenses to operate but also boosts investor confidence and positions the company for long-term success.

  • FireFly Metals nears resource update for Green Bay with high-grade copper-gold results
FireFly Metals Ltd (ASX:FFM) managing director Steve Parsons joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss how the company is advancing towards a potentially significant resource update for its Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Canada, expected before the end of October 2024.
The company has received additional high-grade copper equivalent (CuEq) results from recent drilling activities. Notable findings include 3.2 metres at 11.8% CuEq from the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) zone and 43.2 metres at 2.2% CuEq from the Footwall zone.
Currently, four drilling rigs are operational underground, contributing to the resource estimate update. The Green Bay Project holds 811,000 tonnes of metal at 2.1% CuEq, with recent drilling extending known mineralisation by approximately 500 metres beyond the current resource boundary.
Parsons emphasised the importance of these results in supporting the upcoming resource estimate and highlighted the effectiveness of geophysical surveys in identifying new prospective areas.
FireFly Metals is planning additional down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) surveys to explore further extensions of the copper zones. The company remains financially secure with $38.1 million available as of June 30, 2024.

  • EBR Systems submits final PMA application to US FDA for WiSE CRT System
EBR Systems Inc (ASX:EBR) president and chief executive officer John McCutcheon joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the submission of a final Pre-Market Approval (PMA) module to the US FDA for its WiSE CRT System, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commercialisation pathway.
The final PMA application module will undergo an initial filing review period to ensure administrative completeness and adequacy of technical elements before the FDA conducts a substantive review.
The WiSE System has received Breakthrough Device designation, allowing EBR to benefit from prioritised review and interactive communication with the FDA throughout the PMA process. WiSE is the world's only wireless cardiac pacing device for heart failure, addressing a patient population with no current treatment options and potentially improving conditions for millions of patients.
EBR anticipates FDA approval in the first quarter of 2025 and remains on track for a commercial launch next year in the substantial US market, valued at US$3.6 billion.
The PMA application includes extensive technical documentation and clinical data, notably from the pivotal SOLVE-CRT trial, which met its primary safety and efficacy endpoints.
Following approval, EBR will focus on driving adoption of the WiSE System at key, high-volume procedure sites across the US.

  • Yandal Resources updates Oblique gold exploration target after diamond drilling
Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL) managing director Chris Oorschot joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss its latest exploration update from the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) Gold Project including diamond drilling at the Oblique prospect and plans for the Caladan and Irulan targets.
Results from five diamond drill holes at Oblique confirm the presence of broad, shallow low-grade mineralisation within fresh rock beneath supergene-enriched oxide and transition zones. Consequently, the exploration target for the prospect has been revised to focus on the oxide mineralisation potential, which is of particular interest due to the prospect's proximity to the 268,000-ounce Flushing Meadows resource 5 kilometres to the south.
The diamond drilling provided insights into the structures controlling the mineralisation and the company plans to further test oxide and transitional mineralisation potential at this site within the next six to 12 months.
Additionally, Yandal has received access approval for initial aircore drilling across the Caladan and Irulan targets, with drilling scheduled to begin in October 2024. The exploration team is also preparing for follow-up activities based on forthcoming results from the New England Granite diamond drilling and Quarter Moon drilling, expected in September. Yandal remains well-positioned to continue high levels of exploration throughout 2024.

  • Imugene reports promising results in Phase 1b trial for azer-cel in DLBCL
Imugene Ltd (ASX: IMU) chief operating officer Brad Glover and CEO Leslie Chong sit down with Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss positive results from its Phase 1b clinical trial of azer-cel (azercabtagene zapreleucel), an allogeneic off-the-shelf CD19 CAR T therapy, in patients with relapsed/refractory diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). This trial addresses a significant unmet need as all participants had cancer that returned after autologous CAR T therapy.
Ten patients have been treated, divided into two cohorts. Cohort A involved six patients treated with azer-cel and lymphodepletion chemotherapy. Cohort B included four patients who received azer-cel, lymphodepletion chemotherapy, and interleukin 2 (IL-2).
Results showed three complete responses, with two in Cohort B and one in Cohort A. The complete responses in Cohort B have been durable, with one exceeding 120 days and another more than 90 days. All four patients in Cohort B remain in the trial, and more patients will be enrolled.
The treatment has been safe and tolerable.
The promising results from Cohort B will be included in the potential FDA Phase 2/3 registration package.
Imugene plans to continue patient enrolment and further explore the therapy's potential, including future studies combining azer-cel with its onCARlytics program for solid tumours.
