  • VEIL's Tuan Le says Vietnam's equity market offers opportunities as economic growth recovers
Vietnam Enterprise Investments Limited (LSE:VEIL) lead portfolio manager Tuan Le speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about Vietnam's economic growth, investment opportunities, and VEIL's strategic focus.
Le shared positive news, highlighting that Vietnam's core investment themes, including supply chain development, middle-class growth, urbanization, and infrastructure, remain strong. He noted that foreign direct investment (FDI) reached record levels last year and is expected to rise further this year.
"The country will expect to have high GDP growth this year, 6 to 6.5%, thanks to supportive economic and monetary policies, and stronger credit growth," said Le. This environment supports a positive outlook for the equity market, with VEIL forecasting 11% revenue growth and 18% impact growth.
Le also mentioned significant interest from global companies, such as visits from Apple’s Tim Cook and Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, following Vietnam's strategic partnership with the United States, focusing on the semiconductor industry. Nvidia’s $200 million agreement with FPT, a top VEIL portfolio holding, for an AI factory data center, underscores this trend.
In discussing VEIL’s portfolio, Le emphasised a strong focus on the banking sector, benefiting from economic policies and attractive valuations, as well as a solid recovery in retail, property, technology, and infrastructure-related companies.

  • FTSE 100 opens flat ahead of key US inflation print; midcaps wobble - Market Report
The FTSE 100 is holding flat this morning as a lack of company or macroeconomic news leaves investors in a state of limbo ahead of the US's inflation print on Friday.
Meanwhile, a raft of FTSE 250 companies have reported results, sending the overall index 0.3% lower this morning.
Curry’s dropped close to 5.5% after its sales stumbled, with investors seemingly unimpressed by its return to profit and the improvement of margins.

Medium-term Moonpig is targeting double-digit percentage annual revenue growth, an adjusted EBITDA margin rate of 25% to 26% and growth in adjusted earnings per share at a mid-teens percentage rate.

  • GINSGLOBAL Fund CEO Discusses Strong Performance and Strategic Diversification of Tech Megatrend ETF
Anthony Ginsberg, CEO of GINSGLOBAL Index Fund joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss the performance of their Tech Megatrend ETF. Ginsberg highlighted that the fund has benefited from favorable tech sector conditions and the expectation of future interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve. He noted a broadening in their holdings, which now include sectors such as cybersecurity, cloud, social media, future car companies, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics.
Despite the media's focus on mega caps in AI, Ginsberg emphasized the fund's diversified approach, with 120 holdings across eight themes of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and only 12% in mega caps. The fund's strategy involves rebalancing every six months to take profits from high-performing stocks like Nvidia and Tesla. Unlike the Nasdaq’s US-centric focus, Ginsberg pointed out that their holdings are global, with significant growth observed in developing regions, particularly in cloud and social media usage in Asia. Holdings include companies like NIO and BYD from China.
Ginsberg also discussed the convergence of technologies like AI with various sectors, which enhances earnings across the board. The fund's approach avoids picking individual winners and instead focuses on broader diversification. Regarding European interest, Ginsberg noted the lower price-to-earnings (PE) ratios of their holdings compared to mega caps, indicating potential undervaluation. European investors are looking to complement their existing US exposure with tech megatrend leaders not included in major US indexes.
This diversified and strategic approach underscores the Tech Megatrend ETF's commitment to capturing growth opportunities across a wide range of high-potential sectors, while also managing risk through global diversification.

  • Fathom Nickel Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Friesen Lake Property
Fathom Nickel CEO Ian Fraser joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company's expansion of its portfolio through the acquisition of the Friesen Lake property. This property, encompassing three mineral dispositions, was acquired by staking directly through the Government of Saskatchewan's MARS portal.
Fraser explained that the new ground covers approximately 10,133 hectares immediately adjacent to the Toppings Lake Cu-Ni showing. The Friesen Lake showing and the Toppings Lake showing are situated approximately 40 km and 55 km southwest of the historic Rottenstone mine, respectively. The Rottenstone Mine, which was in production from 1965 to 1969, is known for producing some of the highest magmatic nickel sulphide grades in Canadian mining history.
At Friesen Lake, a northeast trending ultramafic dyke-like feature has been exposed over a strike length of 240 meters and a width of up to 60 meters. Historic drilling at the Friesen Lake showing revealed significant drillhole widths of ultramafic rock, up to 38.5 meters, with localized zones of mineralization yielding up to 565 ppm Ni, 540 ppm Cu, and 0.2 g/t Pd-Pt.
This acquisition enhances Fathom Nickel's strategic position and expands its exploration potential in a region known for high-grade nickel sulphide deposits.
