  • Coinsilium Group's Malcolm Palle shares insights on why Bitcoin is stuck in a rut
Coinsilium Group Limited (AQSE:COIN, OTCQB:CINGF) executive chairman Malcolm Palle speaks to Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the current state of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market.
Palle delved into the aftermath of Bitcoin's halving event, explaining its impact on Bitcoin miners and market sentiment. He discussed the concept of 'miner capitulation' and how the reduction in mining rewards affects market dynamics.
Palle highlighted that despite the reduced supply of Bitcoin, the price has not increased as expected. He attributed this to miners selling off their reserves to stay operational during low-profit periods.
"We're kind of living in the aftermath of the halving," Palle said, emphasizing the cyclical nature of the market.
Looking beyond the halving event, Palle examined the influence of US monetary policy and the growing demand for Bitcoin ETFs. He noted that institutional interest in cryptocurrencies is increasing, with Bitcoin being the primary focus due to its established reputation.
As the market navigates these fluctuations, Palle expressed optimism for the future, stating, "Medium-term we're optimistic, long-term we're very optimistic." He predicted that the market might see significant improvements towards the end of the summer and anticipated a strong performance by 2025.

  • Dynamic Metals confirms large lithium anomaly at Lake Percy
Dynamic Metals Ltd (ASX:DYM) managing director Karen Wellman speaks with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson about the confirmation and extension of a large historical lithium soil anomaly at the Lake Percy Project in the Goldfields Region of Western Australia, with a peak lithium oxide value of 314 parts per million (ppm).
A recent infill and orientation soil sampling program included 762 samples taken at 40-metre spacings, with line spacings between 200 and 400 metres. This program extended the lithium anomaly of greater than 100ppm over a strike of 2.5 kilometres and width of 2 kilometres.
The company has identified lithium anomalies near historic drill holes, which logged multiple wide pegmatites up to 81 metres downhole with elevated lithium values.
Wellman described the results as "very encouraging," and expressed anticipation for the analysis of the lithium assay suite to refine potential drill targets.
Dynamic Metals is evaluating the lithium potential of its land package in WA, particularly following the Widgiemooltha Project transaction with Mineral Resources. The Lake Percy Project, about 120 kilometres west of Norseman, has been historically explored for nickel but was recently identified for its significant lithium potential. This potential has been highlighted by discoveries at the nearby Medcalf spodumene and Burmeister sites.
Previously, White Cliff Nickel Ltd conducted lithium-focused soil sampling in 2015 and 2016, establishing Lake Percy as an area of interest. In 2016, a joint venture with Liontown Resources led to the drilling of eight holes, but no ore-grade lithium intercepts were found, despite encountering multiple pegmatite intervals. Minimal work on lithium potential has been done since Liontown's withdrawal in 2017.
In 2023, Dynamic Metals drilled for nickel, intersecting multiple pegmatites with lithium grades up to 1,170ppm. Sample pulps from these intervals have been submitted for full lithium suite analysis to guide further exploration efforts.

  • Anson Resources fast-tracks Green River with KTS Li-Pro™ pilot unit
Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN, OTCQB:ANSNF) executive chairman and CEO Bruce Richardson sits down with Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio to discuss the company’s coming collaboration with Koch Technology Solutions (KTS) to commission a Li-Pro™ lithium selective sorption (LSS) pilot unit at the Green River Lithium Project in Utah, USA. The pilot unit, scheduled to begin production next month, will provide essential data for a potential full-scale Li-Pro™ unit.
The pilot project is jointly funded by Anson Resources and KTS, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, under a cost-sharing framework involving a KTS investment via a convertible note. KTS completed a treatability study in May 2024 using Green River brine, showing superior results in lithium recovery and element rejection compared to Anson's definitive feasibility study.
The pilot unit will operate continuously for two to four months, processing fresh brine from the Bosydaba#1 well into lithium chloride for potential battery-grade lithium carbonate production. This unit supplements Anson’s existing sample demonstration plant at Green River. Concurrent testing of two direct lithium extraction technologies will be conducted using brine from Bosydaba#1.
Richardson highlighted the project's acceleration and reduced risk due to KTS’s advanced technology. KTS commercial director Martin Rizo emphasised the potential of Green River to become a key US domestic battery-grade lithium carbonate project. The KTS Li-Pro™ process is already operational in North America, including a commercial-scale plant in Arkansas.

  • Recce Starts Phase 2 R327 Gel trial for bacterial skin infections
Recce Pharmaceuticals Ltd (ASX:RCE, OTC:RECEF) CEO James Graham joins Jonathan Jackson in the Proactive studio after the company obtained Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) approval to initiate a Phase 2 clinical trial of RECCE® 327 (R327) Gel for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI). This trial aims to position R327 Gel as a broad-spectrum treatment for various bacterial skin infections, including complicated skin and soft tissue infections.
The trial is an open-label efficacy study and exploratory evaluation designed to assess the systemic bioavailability of single and/or multiple doses of the R327 topical gel applied to ABSSSI, including diabetic foot infections, necrotising fasciitis, and post-operative wound infections. The study seeks to gather critical data on the gel's effectiveness in treating a wide range of ABSSSI conditions.
Graham stated that obtaining HREC approval is a significant milestone for the company, highlighting their history of successful approvals and the dedication of their clinical and research teams. The company collaborates with Barwon Health to conduct the trial, enabling access to a diverse patient population and providing valuable insights into the gel's performance across various ABSSSI conditions.
Site initiation has begun, with the first patients expected to be dosed in the third quarter of the year. This study builds on previous clinical results from testing R327 on infected burn wounds and diabetic foot infections, under the TGA Special Access Scheme Category A initiative. The centralised study approach aims to address a broad range of unmet medical needs in the topical bacterial infection landscape.
ABSSSIs pose a significant challenge to the healthcare system, exacerbated by the rise of antimicrobial resistance, particularly methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Diabetic patients are at high risk of skin infections and poor outcomes from ABSSSI. The global ABSSSI treatment market was valued at US$7.3 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach US$26 billion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate of 9.5% from 2019 to 2032.
