  • NanoViricides announces key data on Ultra-Broad-Spectrum Antiviral Drug NV-CoV-2
NanoViricides CEO Dr Anil Diwan joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share significant news regarding the successful completion of the Phase 1a/1b Clinical Trial of NV-CoV-2, targeting the treatment of COVID-19.
Dr. Diwan reported that the healthy subjects participating in the clinical trial have completed their part successfully, with no adverse events reported in any of the multiple ascending dose cohorts. This outcome confirms the excellent safety profile of NV-387, the active ingredient in NV-CoV-2.
All clinical trial subjects were monitored in the hospital during the treatment period, and they have since been discharged. Additionally, they have undergone the final post-discharge follow-up visit, during which no adverse events were reported. Clinical observations during the in-hospital sequestration did not reveal any adverse events, and lab reports on various blood tests, organ function tests, and ECG (heart) tests also showed no adverse events.
NV-387 is designed to target the viral surface and disable the virus's ability to infect cells, similar to how antibiotics such as penicillins attack bacterial surfaces and dismantle bacteria. This ultra-broad-spectrum antiviral activity of NV-387 spans across various virus families, promising revolutionary advancements in the treatment of viral infections and rapid responses to potential pandemics.
NanoViricides' progress in the clinical trial is a significant development in the fight against COVID-19 and other viral infections, potentially paving the way for more effective treatments and pandemic response strategies.

  • Big tech in focus in results-heavy week - OptionsDesk
OptionsDesk's Sebastian Blanco previews a busy week on the markets for US corporate earnings and interest-rate decisions.
With five of the "Magnificent Seven" reporting quarterly earnings this week, Blanco highlighted the shift from CPU to GPU chip makers, driven by AI industry demands, noting AMD and Nvidia's emerging leadership. He pointed out Intel's significant revenue forecast miss and Tesla's earnings shortfall last week led to substantial market value losses for both.
Microsoft's recent overtaking of Apple as the world's most valuable company was a significant focus. Blanco attributed Microsoft's success to its dominance in the AI sector, contrasting with Apple's challenges, including softer demand in China and a need to detail its AI strategy. He suggested that Apple's earnings, due on Thursday, would be crucial, especially considering Microsoft's stock surge and Apple's relatively flat performance.
Blanco also shared trading insights, emphasizing the potential of a 'strangle' strategy and the benefits of diversified tech-focused exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in portfolios. He recommended considering ETFs that cover the broader tech sector or those focused on major tech firms, citing the shift towards GPU-focused chipmakers.
