Last weekend, white supremacists marched again in Charlottesville, Virginia. While this time no deaths were reported, a torch-wielding mob led by Robert Spencer and chanting menacing slogans sure looks to me like an attempt to terrorize. Fortunately, the state’s governor has just formed the Commonwealth Commission on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. It’s co-chaired by Rabbi Jack Moline, President of Interfaith Alliance, and Cynthia Hudson, the state’s Chief Deputy Attorney General, and both of them will be with us to discuss the importance of – and the challenges to – this work.
Also, Interfaith Alliance of Colorado quickly responded to the unconscionable Justice Department attack on LGBT American rights with a simple statement that has become a rallying cry: “Not in Our Name.” We’ll hear more from Executive Director Amanda Henderson.
