Moe begins today's show with his 'Moe-ment of Truth," where he talks about the retirement of United States Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, and President Biden's promise to nominate a replacement who is a female person of color.
For the remainder of the show, Moe is joined by Randi Weingarten, President of the 1.7 million-member American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO, which represents teachers; paraprofessionals and school-related personnel; higher education faculty and staff; nurses and other healthcare professionals; local, state and federal government employees; and early childhood educators.
The two first analyze how Randi became so passionate about education and fighting for the rights of teachers everywhere.
They also discuss new polling out which shows that America's parents overwhelmingly support teachers, their unions and public education.
Randi also tells about partnering AFT with Newsguard in order to combat misinformation online, as well as her New York Times column titled, "What it takes to be back in school—and stay back."
The website for the AFT is AFT.org and their Twitter handle is @AFTunion. President Weingarten's handle is @rweingarten.
