  • GOP Divisions on Iran War; Sanders and Khanna Propose 'Billionaire's Tax'
The guest host for today's show is Brad Bannon. Brad runs Bannon Communications Research, a polling, message development and media firm which helps labor unions, progressive issue groups and Democratic candidates win public affairs and political campaigns. His show, 'Deadline D.C. with Brad Bannon,' airs every Monday from 3-4pm ET.
Brad is first joined by Mica Soellner, Senior White House Reporter for Bloomberg Government.
The two analyze the divisions that are developing within the GOP over the U.S. war with Iran. Also, they discuss how new Republican voting restrictions, that occurred during the recent Texas primary elections, reveal the party's nationwide strategy for the midterm elections.  They also discuss the latest on the DHS shutdown and a new push by Trump and Vance to convince voters that they now care about the 'affordability' issue.
Then, Alex Lawson, Executive Director of 'Social Security Works,' is our special guest for the second half of the show.
He and Brad detail the 'Billionaire's tax' proposed by Senator Bernie Sanders and Rep. Ro Khanna. They also talk about 'millionaire's day,' which is when people making a million dollars a year stop paying into Social Security.

  • Trump, War & Power: Are Trump and Pete Hegseth the Most Dangerous Men in the World?
Trump, War & Power: Are Trump and Pete Hegseth the Most Dangerous Men in the World?
Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth are driving some of the biggest global conflicts dominating the headlines today. With tensions rising from Venezuela to the Middle East, critics are asking a chilling question: is the world entering a dangerous new era of war and power politics?
On this episode of The Karel Show, Karel breaks down the growing geopolitical tensions surrounding the Trump administration and the aggressive military posture of the United States.
From U.S. intervention in Venezuela to escalating conflict with Iran and the broader Middle East, the world is watching America’s expanding military influence closely. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has warned that the current war with Iran may only be the beginning and that more casualties could occur as the conflict expands. (The Guardian)
At the same time, critics warn that U.S. military actions and rhetoric from Washington could reshape global alliances and push the world closer to a broader conflict.
But the crisis isn’t just overseas.
Back home, Americans are facing mounting pressure and uncertainty:
    • rising economic anxiety
    • a housing market increasingly out of reach
    • travel chaos at major airports
    • job losses and political gridlock in Washington
So the real question becomes: who is holding power accountable—and what happens next?
On today’s episode, Karel dives into the global consequences of war, the political forces shaping the moment, and why some observers believe Trump and Hegseth are among the most powerful—and controversial—figures influencing world events today.
Will the world push back… or simply watch it unfold?

  • The Senate Fails Again: Trump, Iran & Why the Midterms Matter More Than Ever
The Senate Fails Again: Trump, Iran & Why the Midterms Matter More Than Ever
The U.S. Senate had a chance to step in and limit President Trump’s authority over military action in Iran using the War Powers Act—but once again, they refused to act. What does that mean for the future of American foreign policy, and why are lawmakers unwilling to challenge the administration?
In this episode of The Karel Show, we break down what the Senate’s decision really means, how it affects the escalating conflict with Iran, and why the upcoming midterm elections could be the moment voters decide whether to continue down this path—or change course entirely.
Plus, as the weekend approaches, we’ll also dive into the entertainment headlines and health stories everyone’s talking about.
The Karel Show delivers bold commentary on politics, culture, and current events—without pulling punches.

  • Trump or Iran, What Is the REAL Threat to America?
Trump or Iran, What Is the REAL Threat to America?
    Yesterday
Trump or Iran, What Is the REAL Threat to America?
President Trump finally shared his justification with Congress for launching military action against Iran — but the explanation raised more questions than answers. Critics say the briefing failed to show any clear or immediate threat to the United States. As the Middle East conflict continues to evolve by the minute, we break down what’s happening and what it could mean for Americans at home.
Meanwhile, new research suggests something surprisingly simple may help people live longer: pets. Studies show dog and cat owners may experience better health, reduced stress, and longer life expectancy. But there are important realities to consider too — including responsibility, cost, and the emotional toll when our companions eventually pass.
And here’s something many Americans are ignoring: nearly half of the country has no will, no trust, no advanced healthcare directive, and no durable power of attorney. What happens if you become ill or incapacitated? Who makes decisions for you? In this episode we talk about why these documents matter and where you can start putting them together.
War. Health. Pets. Planning for the future.

  • Leslie Marshall Show - 3/3/26 - Trump’s War of Choice with Iran: Veterans Sound the Alarm
Leslie speaks with Naveed Shah, Political Director at Common Defense and a U.S. Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, about the constitutional and human consequences of the Trump administration’s new military action against Iran. Shah discusses the lack of congressional authorization, the risks of entering another prolonged Middle East conflict, and the impact such decisions have on troops and their families. The conversation also examines Trump’s past promises to end “forever wars,” his comments about potential U.S. casualties, and concerns about cuts to veterans’ benefits while committing the nation to a new war.
