Two of the longest-serving LGBTQ-affirming women faith leaders in the nation. I’ll spend the entire hour with the Rev. Elder Pat Bumgardner, Senior Pastor at Metropolitan Community Church in New York City. In addition to her ministry in MCC, the largest LGBTQ membership organization in the world, Pat is executive director of the Global Justice Institute.

Also joining us in the studio, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, Senior Rabbi at Congregation Beit Simchat, the largest LGBTQ synagogue on earth. We’ll talk about how things have changed; what new threats and challenges have emerged; and how multifaith action is possible across ideological and theological convictions.

The two discuss the 33rd Annual West Coast Convention for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA.

The convention drew faith leaders, politicians and law enforcement in a call to fight hate with compassion.

Chino, CA Mayor Eunice Ulloa commented, “I will admit to you, as I did when I was first invited to the mosque, I was fearful...there is so much misunderstanding out there. Now when I come here, I am completely at peace in visiting the mosque, and in visiting you. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is truly a community of peace.”
