Bonus Episode - The Progtalks is taking a summer break, but here is a little bonus episode we shot earlier in the year with Trond from Suburban Savages and Panzerpappa. We talk about his work with prog-magazine Tarkus, and the challenges of trying to dig up obscure prog releases before the internet. Listen to us nerd out about our introduction to progressive music in the '80s, and '90s, and the state of the genre today. We wish you all a great summer, and the Progtalks will be back with more interviews at the beginning of August.

This week on the Progtalks I have with me guitarist Benjamin Lechuga from Chilean progressive metal band Delta, who just released their new album "Fears". We also talk about Benjamins' own project Lechuga, and his recent release "It's Not What It Seems".
Join us to hear about the long history of Delta, their search for the perfect vocalist before finally finding the fantastic voice of Paula Loza, and how Benjamin started playing in the band when he was only 15 years old. We also explore his love of cinematic elements in music, the philosophy behind some of the lyrics he's worked on, dealing with issues most of us face on a day-to-day basis. Finally, he gives us an insight into the plans for Delta and Lechuga going forward how that life is slowly returning to some form of normalcy.

Venezuelan musician Abraham Sarache is the guest of Uncle Prog (Rune Belsvik Reinås) on the Progtalks this time. His progressive metal, with elements of grunge, alternative rock and
math-rock is quite unique and is made even more interesting because of the use of the traditional Venezuelan instrument, the Cuatro. Abraham introduces us to his electric version of this instrument, and how it helps shape his music. We also go into the concepts and philosophies behind his debut album “The Gardener” and his paired EP's “Kaleidoscope of Fears” and “Kaleidoscope of Dreams”. Finally, we talk about future plans, both for playing live, and writing and recording new music.

This week on the Progtalks, Uncle Prog is visited by keyboard maestro David Van Pelt from Australian atmospheric and symphonic prog-rock band Acolyte. Naturally, we discuss their new album “Entropy” which was recently released to great acclaim by both fans and reviewers. We go into their writing process, and the quite serious themes explored on the album, as well as the bands’ history and future goals. David also explains his fondness of Europes’ “The Final Countdown” and gives us a tour through some favourites from his impressive collection of vintage synthesizers, many of which you can hear in use on “Entropy”.
