Dutch musicians Gert-Jan Schurer and Hiske Oosterwijk from Perfect Storm are the guests of Uncle Prog this week on the Progtalks. Together they discuss the band’s much-praised debut album “No Air” that was released internationally on the 19th of March. Trond Gjellum from Suburban Savages is our guest this time here on the Progtalks. The Norwegians recently released their third album “Demagogue Days”, and we go into both the history of the band, as well as their current status. We also talk about the theme of the album, which is communication, information, or perhaps the lack of it. In addition, we’re exploring a plethora of other projects Trond is involved with, such as avant-garde/RIO inspired band Panzerpappa, his outlet for electronic music, Electrond, and the long-form woodland-prog of Ingelrii. So if you’re interested in finding out what’s next for Suburban Savages and Trond with his multi-faceted musical outputs, please watch and listen to this episode of the Progtalks.

This week on the PROGTALKS we are talking to the musicians from Norwegian band Laughing Stock about their recently released album “Zero, acts 1&2”. We get to learn about the history of the band and the long-running friendship of the musicians involved. We also dive into all the inspirations that have informed the highly eclectic progressive music of the band. Finally, we speak a little about the highly relevant themes and concept of the album, the story of the main character “Zero”, the challenges of isolation, and of growing up without attention or love. The Norwegians also share a little bit about what the future holds for the Laughing Stock, and when we can expect to hear “Zero acts 3 &4”.

This week on the PROGTALKS, Uncle Prog (Rune Belsvik Reinås) talks to Ole Michael Bjørndal, known from Oak and Airbag, about his new solo album, under the name “Caligonaut”. Among other things, we discuss how “Magnified as Giants” has been an album long in the making, and how Ole recruited the great line-up of musicians that contributed to the album. He also reveals the ideas, thoughts and philosophy found in the name and the title of the project and talks a little bit about the lyrical content, and the amazing artwork that accompanies it. Finally Ole gives us some of his thoughts on the future of both Oak and, of course, Caligonaut, so do not miss out on that.

This was The Progtalks! By the Progspace.
See you in a week!
This week our guest is the amazingly prolific Mattias Olsson. Most of you might know him as the drummer of legendary Swedish progrock act “Änglagård”, but that is, of course, just a tiny part of Olsson's massive output. “Uncle Prog” (Rune Belsvik Reinås) talks to him about his work, both as a musician and a producer. We discuss his recent releases, including his own project Molesome, and of course the magnificent tribute to Tom Doncourt with “Tom Doncourt & Mattias Olsson's Cathedral”. We also find time to go into a plethora of other bands and projects that Mattias has, or is working with.
