In this video I draw three lessons for ecumenical theology from an important but often overlooked dialogue in the 1570s and 1580s between
Lutheran theologians and Jeremiah II, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. In particular, I suggest that the dialogue clarifies two different approaches to catholicity.
