"I remember as a child waiting to board the plane, and I asked my mother, why are those people turning left?. Her reply, that's first-class, that's where all the rich people go, does that mean we are poor? No, we are Indian, and we don't waste money on bigger seats, better food, and more comfort.

I was eight years old at the time, and I remember it was a short time after my father died. Looking back now, I understand why she said what she did, for her, it was all about survival mode and making sure she took care of her immediate responsibilities, that being my sister and me. She didn't have money to waste on luxuries. For me, this was the start of a journey that would see me question everything and always wanting more from life, and I knew one thing for sure I wanted to be that person turning left onboarding a plane as this was what the successful, wealthy and rich did."
