Erin and Brennan walk through the autumn leaves in New York and ask the age old question: can brothers and sisters be friends? The answer is no, due to egos and the need to be right all the time.
We discuss When Harry Met Sally, one of the most influential romantic comedies of all time. Erin brings up her past dating life of nihilistic boyfriends, while Brennan finally watches the film all the way through for the first time. Verdict? He'll have what she's having. We've got Billy Crystal and Bruno Kirby doing the wave while discussing intimate divorce details, while Meg Ryan throws tissues and cries about being 40......someday. But last, definitely never least, we have the magnificent Carrie Fisher sending flowers to herself and folding contact cards for married men in her Rolodex of potential bachelors.
In the end, we really just want to be the old couples in this movie.
Ok, we're sorry, but we wanted to be sure that we got to say everything that we needed to get said. We needed the time to delve into the ultimate ultimate Batman v. Joker film ever made. We discuss that Rachael is an idiot, Gordon comes back from the dead which begs the question if he's a vampire (Looking at you Gary Oldman), and we get an English education we cannot unlearn: laughter with an "s" is slaughter, the Joker's favorite pastime. But jokes aside, that Bat Bike is seriously slow. At least the President of the Universe from Fifth Element is still around to save us all. Ultimately, this is the best Batman movie and it deserved nothing less than two parts.
R.I.P. Heath Ledger
Brace yourselves folks! The clowns are coming and they're armed with knives, pencils, and vegetable peelers! Ha! You laugh and scoff for now, but what if I were to say that those were all wielded by the Joker? Not laughing now, are you? Erin and Brennan are terrified by a crazed Heath Ledger on a murder spree, particularly when he shouts "LOOK AT ME!" We recount the heady days of midnight viewings and finally being cool (at least for a moment), our love for the cartoony Batman films before the Fire Nation, and the bar set by the one and only Mark Hamill. We look to Batman to defeat the mafia of Gotham, but eventually we learn it's a trap. It's all a trap. It's a trap within a trap within a trap. Where's Admiral Akbar when you need him?
Love,

Erin and Brennan defect for Montana from their nuclear submarine in hopes of a better life. Is this episode full of Sean Connery impressions for the first 10 minutes? Yes. Yes, it is. Do those Sean Connery impressions count as Russian accents according to this movie? Yes, they do.
Brennan sets his depth charges for bad jokes, while Erin has to play along with this conspiracy. But who is the saboteur? It's Craig!
Erin teaches USSR politics, Brennan talk how submarine work (??????), and all the while the USS Dallas is still hunting them.
More importantly they list their favorite submarine movies and third place is NOT the same. Laughter ensues and then they go silent.
Brennan returns to earth in his mortal form, but missing the glow of divinity. Meanwhile, Erin lusts after some nymphs (Gerard Butler) and can't shut up about the Twelve Labors of Hercules (HERAKLES)! Our heroes journey includes some bad gospel singing, screaming about the state of Scar, and a discussion of how randy Zeus is. How randy is he? VERY randy (geese, bulls, and women's missing husbands type of randy....looking at you Amphitryon)
Brennan discusses the horrors of Zero to Hero, while Erin gets upset about the timeline of heroes.....yes, ALL the heroes.
We end in a casting call (listen to us Disney!!!!) for the live action Hercules and also give a big hero's shout out to our goddess divine Diane Keaton for being the best person on the internet (we're looking at you Mark Hamill and Dante Basco). 50 Podcasts and STILL no response.
This week Erin is missing her stage manager Brennan, but is joined by the Lizard King (special guest star) Stephan to talk about the Oliver Stone movie The Doors. Do they just talk about the Doors movie? No! To have a narrative that made that much sense would be too easy. Instead Erin and Stephan wander into the desert to discuss the movie, the band, random 60's rock stories, biopics in general, and everything in between.
Stephan shares his background as a Jim Morrison disciple and Erin can't get over the director's need to cast Jim as a Jesus wannabe. They get into depictions of Native Americans, why is Death a bald man in a mosh pit, what is Billy Idol (WITH A REBEL YELL) doing in this film, and where would Jim Morrison be if he were alive today?
We swear the leather pants make this not excellent movie worth it.....
Erin and Brennan bring home the gold, but let's be real, they're only chocolate gold coins. Following the Tokyo 2020 (2021?) Olympics, our hosts take a moment to share their views on a highly controversial and inspiring sporting event. They discuss everything from COVID to hot guys canoeing, scandals to swimming, protests to pole vaults, and tap dance to ska (the most recognized forms of Japanese art known the world 'round). They even talk about Kimetsu no Yaiba, an anime no one knows about (except for about 70 million weekly viewers, but who's counting) that doesn't get the recognition it deserves, and it deserves gold. They ask the important questions like, why can't the US men pass a stick in the baton relay, who designed the Italian team wear, and who is Tom Daley knitting that sweater for? All this and more on our groundbreaking coverage.

"Sporty Spice is not the only one without a fellah!" exclaims my dear sister as she watches Bend it Like Beckham, taking issue with all Spice Girls references. As mentioned, this week we are talking about Bend it Like Beckham, a sports film about LADIES doing SPORTS! The nerve! There's Jess, there's Jules, and there's Joe! Clearly the cut for making it into the story is to have a name with the letter "J". More importantly Joe is hot, Irish hot, which makes him hot when you're sober AND you're drunk, a rare quality indeed. Jess is a young woman from a traditionally Indian family struggling to balance filial piety and destiny, aka, "which is more important, being like Mia Hamm or learning to make Aloo Gobi?" The answer may surprise you! *aside* It's both! The real question that needs to be answered, should our hosts decide on saying soccer or football (futbol, fütbol, feetball?)?
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLL!!!!!!!
The Summer Olympics have begun, and in that spirit Erin and Brennan have thought long and hard and decided on the perfect sporting film for the occasion, the Miracle on Ice at the 1980 WINTER Olympics at Lake Placid in New York; a story about the ICE HOCKEY team that took on the Soviets and their vampire coach. Armed with their wooden stakes, these young lads do battle with the vampire team and learn what it means to rep the U.S.A. aka Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter? Let's be clear, Erin and Brennan have NO idea about the technicalities of hockey, except for rubber thing go in net then BRRRRRRM! goes the horn. We learn that Boston and Minnesota have an intense rivalry over accents, and hockey too, but accents first.

Erin and Brennan gift you, the Void, on this wonderous summer day, their glittering diamond bods by way of Edward Cullen, the most "attractive" underperforming vampire in the history of literature. With long sullen stares, they greet you and beckon you into this podcast. . . or are they wondering where the toilet is. Not sure. That's right, we're talking Twilight this week as our bad movie review! You all know the story: girl with no personality moves to the Pacific Northwest, falls in love with vampire boy with no personality and NO FANGS, and proceeds to do. . . nothing.
What? Did our long sullen stare. . . distract you, or was it all the gel in our hair? Shoot, too much emotion. Uhh. Did our. . . no. . . Climb on spider monkey?
Stare.
Stare.
Glance away.
Stare.
Bites lip.
Stare again.
