The trade deadline has come and gone, so has Thomas Vanek and man oh man were Vancouver Canucks fans unhappy about it!
Ryan, P Mac and Geeta join you this week to discuss the big deals made last week. No, not just Thomas Vanek to Columbus for some warm bodies, but real, blockbuster trades! Like Paul Stastny to Winnipeg and what a stand up guy and captain Blake Wheeler is!
They also discuss the Ryan McDonagh heading to Tampa Bay, FOR A LOT. Did they overpay for the Rangers' captain? Or will this gamble and blockbuster deal pay off for Stevie Y?
They also discuss Evander Kane heading to the west coast to, thankfully, San Jose. Can the locker room problem fit in with the big personalities in the Bay Area? Can Jumbo Joe lay down the law? Or will there be another tracksuit in the shower?
Finally, the gang discuss Boston's unfortunate luck with injuries, who won the NHL trade deadline and and answer some questions from Twitter!
Enjoy!

One more week to enter our Brock Boeser jersey contest!
On the eve of the NHL Trade Deadline, Rick Nash is a Boston Bruin, Derick Brassard heads to greener Penguin pastures and they continue to debate the trade value of Thomas Vanek.
On the show this week, they discuss Rick Nash becoming a Boston Bruin, the rather high price they paid for an aging forward who's best years are possibly behind him. What does this mean for Boston and for Jarome Iginla, who was practicing with the Providence Bruins recently?
They also discuss the Canucks' deadline day, Jacob Markstrom's ups and downs and an alternate universe where next season, Thatcher Demko would backup Roberto Luongo.
They look at Derick Brassard's impressive playoff point production, what his addition means for the Penguins' desires to three-peat and what it will take to take on the arms race rumours involving the Tampa Bay Lighting and Erik Karlsson. They also discuss yet another week of problems and controversies with the Ottawa Senators and their owner, Eugene Melnyk.
Finally, they touch on the Olympics. The exciting NHL-free tournament and one hell of a gold medal game between Canada and the USA womens teams.
Enjoy!

The Olympic Athletes from Russia are turning heads in South Korea, the Canadian team of ham and eggers aren't nearly as dominant as one would expect and a very small portion of the country is watching at that hour!
Ryan, P Mac and Geeta gather on a rare Sunday PON brunchcast to discuss Jim Benning's three year extension as GM of the Vancouver Canucks. A divided Palatial Estate discusses the pros and cons of such a move.
They also discuss the unusual Dion Phaneuf for Marian Gaborik trade Los Angeles and Ottawa made. If they made this trade 8 or 9 years ago, it would have been a huge deal. In 2018, it's trading off bad contract for bad contract. An albatross exchange!
On the subject of the Senators, they discuss Eugene Melnyk's odd new position, the organization willing to trade away Erik Karlsson and whether they could be gearing up to move the team in the middle of the night.
They discuss Loui Eriksson's bad deal, who they would exchange his bad contract for in return for another player with a bad contract, discuss Thomas Vanek's trade value and get ready as the Vancouver Canucks approach a very important trade deadline.
Listen to this week's 5 Minutes for Paying for our $5+ Patreon backers. Geeta gets a hair in her birthday brunch omelette, the gang discusses which movies scarred them as children and their stressed out sleeping habits.

Jacob Markstrom is getting shutouts, but he's also beefing with Vancouver media for misquoting him.
Geeta, P Mac and Ryan join you this week to discuss Alex Burrows' 10 game suspension for kneeing Taylor Hall in the head. Burrows' did not appeal it and this one of the more dangerous and serious things the former Canuck has done in his career.
They also discuss Jacob Markstrom's up's and downs. From being misquoted and sounding like he threw his team under the bus (he didn't) and bouncing back following a team meeting to get a shutout.
They also discuss PK Subban's visit in Montreal and some heated moments with former teammate Brendan Gallagher. Following Saturday's game, it's safe to say we know who wasn't a fan of PK in the Habs dressing room.
They discuss their 10 team No Trade Clause lists, Canucks trades they wish they could reverse and answer some other great Twitter questions
They're also giving away a Brock Boeser jersey! Want to enter? Listen to the show and find out how!

Mike Fisher is coming back. Out of retirement! Ready to win the Cup for Smashville! But why? And for how much?
P Mac, Ryan and PON Black Ace Simon join you this week to discuss Mike Fisher and the Nashville Predators. They also talk about the New York Rangers' putting a plethora of veteran talent and leadership up on the trade block. Where will Rick Nash wind up THIS time?
They also discuss the Sedins looking to extend their careers in Vancouver. If it's worth it and for how much? They also keep a keen eye on the Calder Trophy race as Mathew Barzal's point production is heating up, but while Brock Boeser is scoring really really pretty goals for the Canucks sending their fans home happy in inevitable losses?
They're look at the new measures the new owner of the Carolina Hurricanes is rolling out to win the fans over, create new ones and a much more fan friendly team, and holy crap, look at that, Phil Kessel is second in NHL scoring, how the hell did that happen?
Finally, the boys discuss their favourite games they ever went to in person and look at the the 13 possible names of the Seattle expansion team.
Enjoy!

Brock Boeser made the entire NHL notice his impressive rookie season and his abilities at the 2018 NHL All-Star Weekend in Tampa... he won just about everything he could!
Geeta, Ryan and P Mac join you this week from the palatial estate to discuss Vancouver Canucks fans' high coming off the All-Star weekend. Brock Boeser impressed everyone, winning the accuracy shooting contest, the All-Star Game MVP award AND best hair (PON gave him that award). He also adopted a puppy. Is there anything this kid can't do?!
They also discuss Kid Rock playing during the intermission, and regardless of the Mr. Rock's reputation, they rave about the weekend in general. Quite possibly one of the most fun NHL All-Star weekend in years (except for the John Scott year, but the NHL wants you to forget about that).
They're also talking about Jaromir Jagr's demotion, and likely his last NHL action (for now...). Should another team maybe have picked him up? How about the Canucks? They're clearly playing for 31st. Jagr could help move some #68 blue jerseys and put some fans in the seats!
Finally, the gang drafts and dresses their own starting lineups. A unit of the most disruptive, toxic, cancer in the locker room players off the ice, and degenerate and dangerous goons on the ice!
Enjoy!

The Canucks rumour mill is churning nice and hot going into the NHL All-Star Break as fans and media are all curious, could Ken Holland be the next general manager of the Vancouver Canucks?
Ryan, P Mac and Geeta gather this week to talk about another week of pure success from the Vegas Golden Knights. William Karlsson's incredible shooting percentage and that home ice advantage have the Knights leading the NHL right now! They discuss how Torts and the Blue Jackets plan to combat that Vegas flu. Will it pay off? Will the players play better while playing guilty?
They also discuss the Ken Holland rumours or at least entertain the idea of the longtime Red Wings GM heading to the west coast to turn the Canucks around. Is Holland the guy to do it? Is his track record in Detroit come with some asterisks? Not a lot of fans are sold on him or his drive to keep the Red Wings' playoff streak alive, would he be a good fit in Vancouver?
They also discuss the culture problems in Arizona as word came out that Louis Domingue described the unusual and unprofessional way the Coyotes handled his contract and roster spot in his final days in Arizona.
They also discuss the red hot Colorado Avalanche and Nathan MacKinnon's Hart Trophy worthy season, further discuss the Matt Duchene effect, the Oilers' gift to the New York Rangers and the chances of another season of Sedinery in Vancouver

The bye-week nonsense is here and while all the NHL players are down in Mexico drinking on fancy watercraft, we're stuck without any games!
P Mac, Geeta and Ryan join you this week to discuss Jason Spezza being a healthy scratch. The latest in the motivational tactics given to rookies this season, with Brent Seabrook being a healthy scratch this month in Chicago.
They discuss the bye-weeks in the NHL, as the Canucks are now on theirs after knocking off Columbus and Minnesota in impressive fashion. As the team gets healthier, could these rare and unusual wins become a more common occurrence?
They take a look at the nobodies and former Vancouver Canucks sprinkled throughout the Canadian Olympic Men's Ice Hockey team, from Mason Raymond to old Willie D himself! They also discuss Nikolay Goldobin being sent down to Utica. Is he being sent down just to keep the legs fresh? Or has he lost his roll on the team?
They discuss the latest player wanting out of Arizona, Anthony Duclair. He heads to Chicago at a bargain price as the problems continue for the Coyotes. How much longer will they last in Arizona, where they're constantly taking one step forward and three steps back.
Finally, they discuss Vegas' home ice advantage, Geeta plays F.M.K and the gang decides to buy some naming rights of defunct NHL teams.

Happy new year everybody! A full bench joins together at Geeta's palatial estate to talk about about the harsh realty of a Stanley Cup parade down the Vegas strip. How did those Golden Knights get so good, how far can they go in the playoffs and how well are they set up for the future?
The gang also discusses the pesky problem facing the Canucks, Erik Gudbranson. As the rumblings of being on the trade block are becoming crystal clear. Where does he wind up? Will another general manager swoon over his grit and his intangibles? Or will he Dan Hamhuis his way out of town?
They also discuss the Chicago Blackhawks and Jeff Glass, the 2005 World Juniors gold medal winning goalie who made his NHL debut 12 years later. They also discuss Canada's gold medal win in Buffalo over Sweden and discuss a certain silver medal thrown over some curtain glass.
They also discuss the likelihood of Jim Benning remaining as general manager next season in Vancouver, who could possibly take over the role and a positive story out of Long Island as the NY Islanders appear to finally have a new home for their NHL point leading forwards John Tavares, Josh Bailey and Anders Lee

Geeta, Ryan and black ace Cole join you to share their thoughts and memories on Messier's signing in Vancouver, how Wayne Gretzky could have been the big UFA signing the year before and just what his hand written contract proposal outlined in terms of demands and salary.
