We are back and while it may be a slow news week, the Emmy nominations are in and San Diego Comic Con is around the corner! This year, "Mr. Robot," "UnREAL" and "The Americans" were all recognized with Emmy noms, which is exciting. Shows that were left out of the equations were fan favorites like "Orange Is the New Black" and "American Horror Story." That's not to say that FX didn't hit it out of the park with shows like "Fargo" and "American Crime Story." Oh ... and HBO did quite well with "Game of Thrones." Yeesh.

After we finish going over the Emmy noms, Jack and Aaron discuss their Comic-Con plans and one thing is for certain ... next week is going to be bonkers. Heck, Jack will probably be drunk the entire time playing Pokemon Go on the streets of the Gaslamp District. The possibilities ...

It's officially June which means bonkers TV time is right around the corner. But first, here's the news ...

On the heels of its Season 2 premiere, Lifetime has renewed "UnREAL" for a third season

Julie Andrews has teamed up with the Jim Henson Company for Netflix children’s series. It’s called “Julie’s Greenroom” and will “awaken children’s interest in the performing arts while introducing a new era of puppets to the viewers.”

HBO has officially greenlit Bill Hader’s new comedy series “Barry.” The series is about “an ex-Marine (Hader) who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he begrudgingly travels to Los Angeles to kill someone and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene.” Sure, we're sold!

FX has ordered “Legion” series from “Fargo” showrunner Noah Hawley. This is an X-Men related comic book thing ... Jack explains ... AGAIN!

It's that time of year again when the networks announce their new fall lineups. Exciting stuff, we know. Instead of reporting on all the channels, this episode focuses mainly on the big five and really, it was a damn bloodbath at ABC.

Some favorite shows across the board were canceled, including "Agent Carter," "Galavant," "The Grinder," "CSI Cyber," "Telenovela" and "The Muppets."

That being said, it looks like NBC and CBS are amping up their comedy slates with the likes of "The Good Place" and "The Great Outdoors," while ABC is bringing Keifer Sutherland back to TV in "Designated Survivor" and FOX is pulling out the stops with "24:Legacy," "Prison Break," "Making History" and "Son of Zorn."

One question, though ... what is up with all the time travel shows?

Between "Timeless" at NBC, "Time After Time" at ABC and "Frequency" at The CW, one has to wonder if 2016/2017 will be the year time travel hits it big on network TV.

Hey, at least these ideas aren't as bad as that "MacGyver" reboot at CBS ... right?

We skip Winners and Losers in this episode but still squeeze in talk of "Bates Motel," "Bob's Burgers," "Broad City" and "Last Man on Earth." You're welcome.

After three weeks off, Aaron is back from Japan and we're dead-set on talking television. A LOT OF TELEVISION! Seriously, so much TV. Mind you, it's been three weeks. Get ready for a THREE HOUR episode.

Ryan Murphy has a new anthology series coming to FX. Called “Feud,” it’ll take on real Hollywood feuds. The first season will star Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon and document the rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Netflix is moving forward with a “Punisher” series. CBS is mulling over renewing "Supergirl" for a second season leaving rumors the series may jump to another network. Seth MacFarlane is developing a live action sci-fi space dramedy for FOX, which he will also star in. Netflix renewed “The Ranch” and Hulu renewed “Mindy Project” and “The Path.” Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi’s widow are developing a “Blues Brothers” cartoon. The Co-creator of Netflix’s “Narcos” is creating a series about El Chapo for the History Channel

After production went on hold in January, HBO has continued shooting the first season of "Westworld." No idea when it’ll premiere though ... Every episode of "Animaniacs" is now available for streaming on Netflix. ABC Freeform is rebooting the BBC series “Misfits” and is adapting the Marvel comic “Cloak & Dagger” to series. Melissa McCarthy will reprise her role as Sookie on the “Gilmore Girls” revival after-all. "It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia" was renewed for two more seasons, making it tied with "Ozzie and Harriet" as the longest running sitcom in TV history. TBS has extended "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee" through to the end of this year’s election season. Freddie Prinze Jr to host Dana Carvey’s “First Impressions” on USA, which is a competition series of people doing impressions. FOX renewed "Lucifer" and "Rosewood' because, typical FOX. Dick Wolf has created a new “Law & Order” series called “Law & Order: True Crime.” The first season will be about the Menendez Brothers murder trial. CBS orders its own true crime anthology series, the first season will be about JonBenet Ramsey. Tom Waits has signed on to play a revolutionary priest named Cesar in Hulu’s new supernatural series, “Citizen.” His character is being described as “a walking anachronism of virtue and vice—mostly virtue” who “runs a guerrilla humanitarian outfit” in a “supernaturalized” version of Los Angeles.

M. Night Shyamalan says there will be a Cryptkeeper in the new "Tales from the Crypt." Comedy Central has canceled "Moonbeam City." Fox has renewed "Last Man On Earth." Science Channel is rebooting "Mythbusters" and will hold a reality show competition to find their new hosts. Louis CK, Al Franken, Anderson Cooper and Matthew Weiner will be on "Jeopardy" May 16-20 for Power Players week. "Making a Murderer’s" Dean Strang is going to star in his own docuseries, “Dean Strang: Road To Justice.” Martin Sheen is producing a new special for Investigation Discovery called “Hard Evidence: OJ is Innocent.” It’s based off “O.J. Is Innocent and I Can Prove It,” by private investigator William C. Dear and will present its case that Simpson is, in fact, innocent of the crimes he was acquitted of committing 22 years ago. Food Network has just announced that it will be highlighting Yelp restaurant reviews on a new show called “12 Hungry Yelpers.”

"Luke Cage" will premiere on Netflix on September 20th. Sarah Wayne Callies will return to the "Prison Break" revival as Dr. Sara Tancredi. The movie "Heathers" is being turned into a TV series by … TV Land? 50 Cent will host a variety show for A&E tentatively titled, “50 Cent Needs To Pay Off His Creditors.” "Gotham" has been renewed for a third season. Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are developing a reality show called “The Runner” for Verizon’s new mobile entertainment platform called Go90. Chumlee from "Pawn Stars" was arrested after a raid on his house which found 12 guns and a bunch of drugs ( 1 gallon Ziploc with 116 grams (1/4 pound) of marijuana, 2 clear jars of marijuana (8.2 grams and 2.8 grams), 1 bag with 4.4 grams marijuana, 7 clear capsules with 1.7 grams of methamphetamine powder, 17 Xanax bars). That Mountain vs Red Viper scene in "Game of Thrones" was originally a lot worse. Instead of the Mountain gouging out the guy’s eyes, the original footage had him ripping the guy’s face in half. Yeah ... HBO wasn’t down for that.

Amazon has picked up the pilot which is being written and executive produced by Ben Edlund. Lady Gaga is officially returning for the next season of "American Horror Story," duh. Jimmy Kimmel has confirmed he will be hosting the 2016 Emmys. WGN America is developing the DC Comics title “Scalped” to series. The series will explore “power, loyalty, and spirituality” in a modern-day Native American reservation. Geena Davis has joined the cast of FOX’s “Exorcist” series. AMC has renewed "Into The Badlands" for a second season. Dos Equis has ended its long run of the “Most Interesting Man in the World” ad campaign. James Corden is attempting to turn his late night “Carpool Karaoke” segment into its own series. The '80s "TMNT" cast will return in Sunday's March 27the episode.
