In this inimitable episode the interminable Double D is back postulating on the punkadelics. On deck today I've got my look ahead for the entire year of the crazy sport we like to call Mixed Martial Arts. I tried to keep this short, but I wanted to give everything its due, so it grew to a meaty hour and three quarters. You will leave the episode much better informed than you came in, and that's a guarantee. I move between a range of subjects, including but not limited to: Conor McGregor on roids????, Paddy The Baddy's Big Bad Week, Piss Poor Judging and much more. Included here is an extensive look through the upcoming influx of Russian/Eastern European talent, across basically every division. We're ready for the invasion. Scared, but ready. There was also time to look ahead to every major fight card announced so far this year (correct at time of recording), my own planned Preview Breakdowns and the major headlines following (plaguing?) Steaming into 2023 with fresh content, we're casting our uniquely punkadelic eye over the upcoming UFC 283 Fight Card from Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We'll discuss the card in its entirety, including the main event title clash at light heavyweight between Glover Texeira and Jamahal "Sweet Dreams" Hill, before getting into a breakdown of the stats for the fourth in an epic series of Flyweight title fights between Deivieson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. With three fights already in the books we had a ton of data to look at, and build up a picture over the hour or so of this episode, of just who might have an advantage going into this fourth contest. Finally for this episode, we go to The Court Of Public Opinion (Reddit) to see what the people have to say about this PPV. It's an interesting fight, with the winner likely to dominate at 125 for some time. Of course, there's also the possibility with a draw or injury or any of the other things that regularly go wrong inside the cage, that this is merely setting the stage for a historic FIFTH fight. As with all the best MMA fights, there is only ever one way to find out the winner...

Grim Miller is back promoting punkadelicsm for the proletariat. Biiiig episode on deck, isn't it about time we got back to talking through some deep, dark, downright disgusting true crime stories? It's been a while! And where better to start than in the horse's mouth. In Their Own Words. A punkadelic episode like no other: you will be horrified by the crimes of six of history's greatest monsters, repulsed by their murderous methods and chilled to the core on hearing evil's internal logic- all in their own words. It gets dark as we investigate the ravings and writings of Jack The Ripper, The Lipstick Killer, The Bind Torture Kill Strangler, The Smiley Faced Killer, The Brooklyn Vampire and the legendary Zodiac. Elsewhere in this episode we had time to visit the best joke I've made in recent memory before balancing everything out with a hefty does of walloper watching. This week features flashlight nerds, facebook meltdowns, Adriana Chechik's comment section and quite possibly the greatest room for rent advert in history.

The Artem Lobov of getting rote off is back! Now this was supposed to be a short but sweet intro to 5 of the best fights from UFC 281, across main card and prelims, but unfortunately I got so bogged down in the main event it’s really all I covered in depth. For the main event I looked at several key areas for both Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya and Alex “Poatan” Pereira. We covered their MMA Records, UFC Records, got into the major storylines entering the fight and around the event itself, the stakes for each, the potential X Factors in deciding the fight and the path(s) to victory for both men to wrap up. I was concerned this would be a shit episode with shit analysis but I think we got thru it admirably in the end. You won’t come out of this podcast poorer in information about Saturday’s main event than you went in, promise! I touched on a bunch of the other fights on the card, mainly the title fight between Zhang Weili and Carla Esparza, “Iron” Michael Chandler vs. Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier for the unofficial violenceweight title, the returning Dan “The Hangman” Hooker vs Claudio Puelles and City Kickboxing’s Brad Riddell taking on Renato Moicano at lightweight.  As with all my MMA episodes it seems only fair to give the disclaimer I have ZERO idea what I’m talking about, I’m just a huge fan who loves to ponder the hypotheticals and armchair quarterback on the big night. Hope you like this one, I was very happy with it in the end (a few annoying electronic buzzings which I cannot remove in the edit notwithstanding- sorry about that, they don’t last long), think I’ve hit on a good structure here, will definitely try to do more previews of big cards in the future, but for now…

School Shooter McGavin is back! This episode was super simple, I just did extended Walloper Watch for the entire episode. As the world's preeminent scholar on the subject of walloper watching, it’s my punkadelic prerogative to do that from time to time. Up front i did manage to rec you several of your new favourite podcasts, talk hardcore fantasy literature and clarify my position on two of the hot button MMA/Combat Sports topics of the day. Punkadelic Podcast is a podcast about the things that make life worth living. And one of those things as you know is nerding out over gamebooks. For this episode I've gotten my hands on an absolute stormer, Freeway Fighter from the OG Fighting Fantasy series. In short, that means this is the best gamebook episode yet. The involved combat system took me a few goes to get my head round but it got slicker as the pod went on. We’ll do part two soon and try to beat this unrelenting, remorseless gamebook that punishes the smallest of mistakes in brutal fashion. 

Freeway Fighter is set in a Mad Max style post apocalyptic wilderness and sees you take control of a rocket and machine gun equipped speedster on a quest to secure the town’s gasoline supply.

Freeway Fighter is a science-fiction adventure scenario in which the hero must journey through the wilderness to find needed supplies from an oil refinery, to save his town New Hope.[1] Game designer Lawrence Schick describes the scenario as being the same type as Mad Max or Car Wars.

The story takes places in a post-apocalyptic United States, after much of the world's population has fallen victim to a deadly plague. The survivors huddle together in isolated settlements, while the roads are dominated by lawless nomads in heavily armed vehicles. The player takes the role of a citizen of the town New Hope who must drive their armed Dodge Interceptor motorcar across the wastes in order to procure a tanker filled with a fresh supply of petrol for their community. The story also provides a secondary quest: locating and rescuing a kidnapped New Hope leader from outlaws.

Maaaaaaasive episode here, prepare to hear brand new news and details about the new Panos Cosmatos film, find out who is the king of instagram captions and we are also asking, just what IS the Liver King having for dinner today? I had time to touch on two of the all time greatest hard rock or heavy metal set lists I think I’ve ever seen. Then this week’s title comes from yet another attempt to convince others that my favourite band, The Wildhearts, are the greatest rock and roll outfit to ever do it. I will never stop trying this. I’m taking a look into some of Ginger’s bleakest lyrics tonight, so for balance I also thought we’d better talk about The Dwarves seminal early 90s classic LP: Blood, Guts & Pussy. Then it’s a paradigm shift into free form storytelling mode as I try to capture the good times vibes of the sadly now defunct MOTN, the best comedy venue in Vancouver, and explain the kind of crazy that runs rampant in my home town in Ireland. Metalhead Lasso is back with more promising, pragmatic punkadelism. This week it's a biblical freestyle on this year's new punkadelic music releases, clocking in at a whopping 75+ minutes. I let rip on every release on my radar for 2022, across a very wide range of subgenres and scenes. I tried hard also to make sure you understood how these albums relate to the wider sweep of each bands career, subgenre and scene giving brief but inimitable histories where appropriate. My brief history of Megadeth may have become a long history of megadeth but them's the breaks. Hear also about the emergence of the sleaze rock scene in Sweden in the 90s, the very best live album you'll hear this year and all the major players in hard rock, heavy metal and hardcore punk's new studio records. It takes a while but you'll find something in there to get excited about! There was time also to get hardcore into the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe including one huge, ginormous, entire paradigm shifting fan theory about Phase 4 that changes how we look at every entry in that phase and hints at the conflicts to come. I get my comic nerd on here in a big way. And then you already know how we close the show, with the best segment in podcasting: Walloper Watch. This iteration features flashlight losers, the loneliest guy in bangladesh and our favourite columnist from the Guardian is bemoaning that her children aren't birds, or something, it's getting less and less clear that she actually has a firm grasp on what she's writing. Or reality for that matter.

And, speaking of inbred incestuous monsters, we’re doing a punkadelic special investigation into the men that keep second secret families tonight. Why do they do it? How do they afford it!? What happens when it all comes crashing down in a public forum? All these questions answered and so much more, including personal perspectives from the children of secret second families. This is a big one, it’s my mid-year MMA roundup, getting into ALL the major storylines and picking them apart in my own inimitable fashion.
