(2 of 2) Doug Edwards is back on the show to talk about the brutal nature of Solomon's rise to the throne in 1 Kings 2. The Bible says, “Thus the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon” (1 Kings 2:46). What did it take to accomplish this? In order for Solomon’s kingdom to experience peace and harmony, the kingdom’s enemies had to be killed. The kingdom and its enemies could not coexist.
Just as enemies had to be destroyed for there to be peace and harmony in Solomon’s kingdom, so there are enemies that have to be destroyed for there to be peace and harmony in the Lord’s kingdom today. Let's be clear... we're NOT talking about killing people. The enemies in mind spiritual in nature. They are beliefs, practices, or ungodly characteristics within us. Let's study together to learn more.
