SuperTalk: The Martian Chronicles

Supergirl Season 2, Episode 11, “The Martian Chronicles”, aired February 06, 2017

Supergirl TOCK! Definite tock, though our first thoughts were the same as when we watched Napoleon Dynamite. When that movie finished we looked at each other and said, did we just watch that trainwreck?

Then the very next day we were quoting the movie at each other and laughing at the comedic genius of the film.

This week is all about the white martians, but is really all about relationships, some of which grow, and one of which gets mired into a tired old trope. We get to meet M’Gan’s mate, see a bit of an evil Wynn and despite the ongoing Super Problem, this episode was a home run.

CW Lego Batman promo discussed in this episode: https://youtu.be/jG1o88NQS-0

Star Wars Theory Series is hosted by Pure Fandom Co-Founder Liz Prugh and her brother Patrick Pochop (talking about Star Wars is one of the only ways she can get him to hang out with her). They frequently have their other two brothers and self-proclaimed Star Wars experts as guest hosts. Each week they break down a new theory, and of course make fun of each other.

This week, Liz and Pat break down a new Star Wars theory that's been circling on reddit, from user AnakinKardashian (props to the ridiculous user name.) The theory brings some convincing points to lead us to believe that Emperor Snoke is indeed, The Last Jedi.

In this podcast, we break down the details from the Snoke/Last Jedi theory:

-What Luke really went searching for the last Jedi temple — is he trying to find out more about Snoke?

-How old Snoke could be

-What's the true definition of 'Jedi' is anyway?

-What we know so far about the Old Republic

-Kylo Rens lightsaber: It's been confirmed it's from Snoke, and it looks awfully medieval, which feeds into the Snoke being the last Jedi theory.

-Bonus: Kickass games you can play and video trailers to watch that depict The Old Republic.

Our crew of five is down a man in this week’s episode as Eliot is back in Fillory to rule...he is henceforth known as King Shit. I liked Spectacular better but what can you do. The Beast spends the episode annoying Julia in the most delightful way possible and the duo try to recruit Hedge Witch Marina in taking down Renard.

Echoing an alarming reality, Incorporated brought things full circle with the season one finale. Ben killed, cheated and lied his way to the top of the heap. Yes, his intentions were honorable but the means left much to be desired. Poor Chad certainly could've done without Ben ruining the former exec's life for a promotion that Ben didn't truly want in the first place. By episode's end, Ben has reunited with Elena and he has his promotion. Laura has a new career and oops looks like she got that baby she wanted with her hubby. She doesn't look over the moon about the prospect, though.
