Purple FTW! Podcast

Bear hunting season! To help us preview the Chicago Bears angle of the game, we brought in friend of the program Julie DiCaro (@JulieDiCaro) of 670 The Score to explain the hype around Mitchell Jerome Trubisky and how she thinks he'll fare in his NFL debut against the Zimmer Hellfire Defense. Plus @JReidDraftScout of Vikings Territory makes his weekly stop to discuss Sam Bradford gimpy knee, how the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings will try to replace Dalvin Cook, and an advanced scouting report on fellow North Carolina small school alum Tarik Cohen.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings resume practice today as they look to take care of business and secure an intra-division road win Monday Night versus the Chicago Bears. To get some betting insights on the game, we brought in our friend Joe Duffy (@OffshoreInsider) to handicap the game (both with or without Sam Bradford) and explain the gambling impact of losing a talent like Dalvin Cook. Later in the show, Vikes Over Beers is in full effect as Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and I sit down over a few of Minnesota's finest craft brews and complain about the Vikings (and the Twins).

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings are in need of yet another offensive identity change with rookie phenom Dalvin Cook done for the season. Luckily native son and decent NFL wide receiver Michael Floyd is off suspension and free to fully rejoin the team. What does he bring to the table? I think Floyd could help shift the Vikings to a vertical passing-first offense by the end of the season. I'll explain my logic. Plus Darren Doogie Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) of The Scoop Podcast phones in for his weekly segment talking Dalvin Cook injury, Latavius Murray ankle, Sam Bradford's knee, and the latest on Teddy Bridgewater.

It's not time to panic, right? RIGHT?! Minnesota Fightin' Vikings fans should be used to non-contact left knee injuries to their star players. What's one more? To assess the carnage and look ahead to Chicago, we brought in BJ Reidell (@RobertReidell) of Vikings Territory and the About The Labor Podcast. We recapped the game, talked about the return of his boy Michael Floyd, and even did a guest round of Tell The Truth Tuesday.

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings fumbled away a golden opportunity to make noise in the early NFC North race handing the Detroit Lions a 14-7 win Sunday at Historic US Bank Stadium. Despite a top-shelf game by the Zimmer Hellfire Defense, turnovers and inconsistent offensive play doomed the Vikings from kickoff. Plus the biggest loss is Dalvin Cook, potentially lost for the season with a knee injury (early reports say torn ACL). Let's recap the bleh day that was.

Today's Talkers Include:

* Turnovers. Turnovers. Turnovers.

* Dalvin Cook: Why can't We Have Nice Things?

* Summary Judgement on the Offense

* We Don't Deserve This Defense

* Told Y'all About Danielle Hunter

* Where's Kyle Rudolph?

* Stefon Diggs' Leadership

* Anthony Barr Appreciation Thread

* Odds 'N Ends

* On to Chicago

The Detroit Lions are looming. It's time for the Minnesota Fightin' Vikings to go JCVD on their rear ends. To help preview the upcoming tryst at Historic US Bank Stadium, we brought in long-time friend of the show and Lions apologist Michael Grey (@TheMichaelGrey). We chatted about whether or not he's emotionally buying-in to the 2-1 (close to 3-0) Honolulu Blue Warriors or if he's waiting for them to be the same ole Lions. Plus Josh Pelto (@JoshPelto) and I sit down for this week's Happy Hour Half-Hour/Vikes Over Beers.

New ESPN Nation Vikings writer Courtney Cronin (@CourtneyRCronin) joined me at The Blue Door Pub to chat about the recently resuscitated Minnesota Fightin' Vikings. We talked at length about rookie running back Dalvin Cook, Sam Bradford's injury, the repeatability of Case Keenum's play from Sunday, the Vikings' viability in the NFC , and some background on her and her career. Plus a bonus deep dive on the Oakland Raiders and Kanye West's early discography. Also Darren "Doogie" Wolfson (@DWolfsonKSTP) of The Scoop Podcast phones in for his weekly segment talking Purple (with some bonus college basketball scandals).

The Minnesota Fightin' Vikings showed up and showed out on Sunday, but there are a few truthful items that have to be aired out. Today's Tell The Truth Tuesday talkers include: Whether or not the Vikings can make the playoffs with Case Keenum, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen being the 2nd best wide receiver duo in the NFL, and if the Purple could sweep and go 8-0 at home during the regular season. Plus Jordan Reid (@JReidDraftScout) of Vikings Territory swings in to recap the big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sift through how Case Keenum was set up for success, and a look ahead to the Detroit Lions in Week 4.
