Hey Purple FTW! Fans. I've got a new project called (narcissistically enough) The Andy Carlson Show. It's a 5-day a week podcast where I talk about Sports... And other stuff.

So if you enjoy my mediocrity here, enjoy my mediocrity there by checking out the site and subscribing on iTunes.

Valentine's Day came and went and ironically the sports news was hot and heavy over the weekend too. I recap the goings on in Five Things as well as give the low-down on what The Wife and I did over the weekend (get your mind out of the gutter). Also Jensen's in Eagan is #Elite.

Today's Five Things Are • Peyton Manning's Tainted Legacy? • Minnesota State Dance This Weekend - Go Austin Packer Dance Team! • Wolves Dominate NBA All-Star Weekend • Minnesota Wild Fired Mike Yeo. Now What? • Emmitt Smith Says Adrian Peterson Only Player Who Can Break His Record

Winning free agency is NOT the key to success (i.e. Washington in the 2000s, Tampa Bay two years ago), but it's still a lot of fun to see your favorite team pick up pieces that could help them next season. I take a dip into the free agent pool and come up with 5 names Vikings fans should keep and eye on as March 9th approaches. All of the guys I picked are for positions of need and will not necessarily break the bank or be household names, but will help this team (ala Linval Joseph and Captain Munnerlyn two season ago). Also I run through the current list of Vikings free agents and definitively say if they'll be back or yee gon.All that and other "BYE, ROBERT BLANTON" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! The Super Bowl is in the books, but the NFL train keeps rolling on into draft season. We welcome Luke Inman (@Luke_Spinman) back to the pack to chat about what the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers should be looking for in April's annual culling of collegiate talent. I'm gonna guess the Panthers could use some offensive line help.........All that and other "Broncos Upgrading at Quarterback" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! As listeners of Purple FTW! know, Andy is pretty lazy. Therefore I've passed the buck along and we have a new producer in the fold by the name of Daniel Paluch (@DanielPaluch). During the show we talk about what the hell a podcast producer does (I still have no idea), suss out how he did prepping for his first show, fill you guys in about the first time I met Daniel in Mankato (#BackSweat) and even talk a little Minnesota Fightin' Vikings.

All that and other "Get My Coffee" nonsense on this edition of the Purple FTW! Podcast.
