Purple Reign

The PWHL Takeover Tour 2025/26 continued in Chicago as the Allstate Arena was treated to a rematch of the PWHL Walter Cup Finals 2025 which no only did it meant the locals saw our championship jerseys but also how feisty these two sides are with each otherHowever I must say I'm very disappointed with the attendance for two reasons the first as it was a homecoming for Kendall Coyne-Schofield but the second is Chicago is high on my list for expansion

FIRST STOP HALIFAXThe PWHL Takeover Tour 2025/26 kicked in style as the Scotiabank Centre was given a treat of a hockey game as the Toronto Sceptres had plenty of chances but once we got to the shootout the Victoire took full controlAs a trio we struggled to see how engaged Halifax was especially as a lot of people think they are contenders for expansion but I'll tell you what I did enjoy the interview with the author of Heated Rivalry (PLEASE RELEASE THE SHOW IN THE UK!!!)

On this edition of the Olympic Hockey Show I try to avoid bursting a blood vessel, Pluto bangs my walls and Lady demands statements as the situation in Milan sinks to a new low as word on the street now is that the main arena won't be ready until three days before the OlympicsAnd with that I can no longer defend the Milan-Cortina organisers as I deeply care about women's hockey and I will not allow players from my beloved PWHL be used as lab rats

Ahead of our takeover in Chicago I saw an interesting article from The Hockey News about a new practice facility opening nearby Allstate Arena which is where the two Takeover Tour games will take placeThe significance of this is that these could be huge steps that help Chicago land a PWHL team as once again talks of expansion are very rife and the Windy City might just have the advantage

The Hockey Pack's Boston Bruins supporter Resort Paris Goofy joins the show as the Boston Fleet announce that they will be hosting the Montreal Victoire at TD Garden on the 11th April 2026This is a huge event for the PWHL as TD Garden is one of the most recognisable venues on the continent and as Goof points out not easy to bookWe are also delighted that he will be joining us to watch this game live and we will be looking forward to that

On this edition of the Olympic Hockey Show Pluto & Lady brace for a fiery show from me as my blood is starting to boil at how many people online are suggesting that the games should be moved to another countryWhat people need to understand is Italy bid and won the game in 2019 and if they weren't up for the job then the IOC would have by now stepped in like the CGF did with Durban

On this edition of the Olympic Hockey Show the Purple Trio gather as the situation in Milan is starting to unfold at an alarming rate and with the PWHL season now in full swing I myself are starting to have some concerns about if one of the arenas that will hold both hockey tournaments will be ready

The PWHL have revealed a new initiative called the Starting Six where each month the league will recognise three forwards, two defenders and one goaltenderIn this first Starting Six recap the Purple Trio celebrate the Starting Six for the month of November 2025 Check out the recipients - https://www.thepwhl.com/en/news/2025/december/02/pwhl-announces-novembers-pwhl-starting-six

It's a massive show for you all as it's time to kick off the recaps for the 2025/26 season!!!

We had two historical games in the month of November as our Frost raised it's second Walter Cup banner to the rafters before heading to Seattle to take on the Torrent for the very first time in front of a record breaking crowd

But before all of that I'm joined by my fellow Purple Trio members Pluto & Lady joined me to give our thoughts on the banner ceremony and then Lady sticks around to recap for me the American leg of the 2025 Rivalry Series

We round off the show with our first look at the League Leeaders as we all might have underestimated Boston while the new kids prove me right that everyone was overreacting back in the summer
