This episode on What They DON’T See, an inside look at where creatives create we link up with Mixing Engineer, Neek, at his studio in Sherman Oaks, California.
Neek is originally from Wheeling, West Virginia. Having a passion for music since he was a kid, he turned his parents basement into his own studio. While attending school at West Virginia University, he became "the guy" that everyone musically was working with. From there, he moved out to Los Angeles to continue working on his passion and now works alongside artists Lil Skies, Landon Cube and more.

2018 was probably one of the greatest years of my life. It was the year I saw dreams come true and it was a taste of what I could accomplish if I manifested my goals into reality.
If there is 1 thing money can’t buy you, it’s time. The clock keeps ticking and there is nothing we can do about it. Are we gonna sit on our ass and let our life happen before our eyes or are we going to make something of it?
I can’t tell you how to live your life, I can only show you how I decide to live mine.
2019 let me give you a little heads up… there's a guy by the name of Bobbbaaaay or some know him as the world's favorite bearded man. He’s on a mission, and he will not / cannot be stopped.

Jake Kassan is the Co-Founder of MVMT. When rocking their watches, sunglasses or premium accessories, they want people to be inspired to live life on their owns terms and do what makes them truly happy. With quality, minimalist designs at radically fair prices, they’ve created an absolute monster that was recently acquired by Movado Group for $100 Million.
Born and raised in Valencia, CA, Jake was focused on building businesses from a young age. At 16 he launched his first business, Nitelife Designs, and was making over $10k a month. Only one year into community college in Santa Barbara, CA he dropped out to work-full time. Eventually that business failed, he worked valet until he launched his second business, Glow Threads, which he eventually sold.
Wanting to create a watch brand that was affordable, he and his business partner Kramer Laplante launched MVMT. What started in their apartment has grown to a team of 40+. What’s changed the most about him within the past 5 years since launch is realizing that everything is relative to where you’re today in your life and the importance of work/life balance.
In this episode Jake discusses facing our fears head on, seeing an opportunity & acting on it, how entrepreneurs are professional problem solvers, we will have good days & we will have bad days, reverse engineering our goals and why we must celebrate the small wins.

Tiana Haraguchi is the Co-Founder & CEO of Foray. With inspiration to create meaningful experiences between brands and social media influencers, her agency has become one of the best in Los Angeles. Most recently they launched their marketplace where people can now shop online for some of the hottest brands through their platform.
Born in Hawaii and raised in North Branford, Connecticut, business had always been a passion for her since she was a kid. She was fascinated with how they were built which inspired her to study Finance at Bryant University. After graduating, she spent 2+ years in the corporate environment before leaving to start her first business, Boutikey, a platform that helped bring Boston and local boutique shopping online.
Having a vision for what the social media influencer world would become, she left her bizz in Boston, packed her bags and moved to LA to pursue this next venture, Foray. Working alongside incredibly talented influencers and brands, they’ve been able to create luxurious 5-star experiences through their events such as Foray Gala and Foray Oasis.
In this episode Tiana discusses how the unknown should inspire us, the importance of doing something that we love, being able to take rejection with pride, waking up and appreciating life for what it is and why we should never lose the hunger for our passion.

Charlie Rocket is an Ironman, Nike Athlete, Motivational Speaker and host of Charlie Rocket Show Podcast. Previously the manager of 2 Chainz, he left the music industry after being diagnosed with a brain tumor at 305 lbs. His plan now? Impact 1 million lives and leave the world something that lives on forever.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, he quickly became known as “CEO Charlie” for his passion for entrepreneurship. His grandfather, father and mother all sold vacuum cleaners and he incorporated that same hustle into his own life. With an opportunity to go on tour with Soulja Boy, he dropped out of community college. Fast forward, he later would help the careers of Travis Porter and 2 Chainz.
Leaving the music industry he started Chapter 2 of his life in Santa Monica, CA. He became vegan and started creating a “new algorithm” for his life. He only ate foods that were high frequency, high energy that would fuel his body correctly. He ran 3 marathons, became an Ironman athlete and lost 120 pounds. He grabbed the attention of Nike through his “My Story Isn’t Over Yet” video and was then featured in their highly controversial “Dream Crazy” 30 year anniversary commercial with Colin Kaepernick.
In this episode Charlie discusses incorporating the “rocket mentality” in our own life, receiving a phone call from Jimmy Iovine, visiting Diddy at his penthouse in NYC, becoming a world's top 1% athlete, The Dream Machine Tour bike ride around the US, going beyond what’s realistic and why we should believe bigger.

Welcome to What THEY Don’t See Series, an inside look at where creatives create. We will be exploring the spaces of artists, fashion designers, talent managers, entrepreneurs, filmmakers etc and see firsthand how they operate. We hope this series will teach and inspire you as well as show you that these people are no different than any of us. We all have the same 24 hours in a day, the only difference is how we each spend them.
First our first Episode of What THEY Don't See we’re taking an inside look at Clothing Designer Nathan Achorn's studio space, Chicopee Clothing Company, located at 935 Wall St in Downtown Los Angeles.
Nathan is originally from Chicopee, MA (413 stand UP!) After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, he opened up his first space in Chicopee. From there he made his way out to LA where he now operates his clothing sampling and pattern-making service company.
Learn more about Nathan on Episode 2 + 60 of Purpose in the Youth Podcast.
