This age that we live in is rife with misinformation - conspiracy theories, half-truths, and flat out lies - on the various media platforms that we consume daily. While this has been true for a long time, it's become even more clear in the past few years, and especially during this election season.
One of the most unfortunate things that we have witnessed is what appears to be a widespread lack of critical thinking in our society about information we receive via social media, news, etc. Is it fair to accept what a person or organization says as truth simply because they have a platform, or is it worth it to subject everything we hear to a basic level of scrutiny before we accept it as truth?
