  • 55 – IRONMAN© Victoria 70.3 – Nathan Killam Professional Triathlete
This episode is truly amazing. I was able to hear what it’s like to not only cross the finish line of a race but to hear the raw emotion of a proud father getting to race in front of his son for the first time. Nathan shares his perspective of the race and allows an inside look at what it’s like to be a full time firefighter, coach, husband, and professional triathlete.

I conclude my Hawaii 70.3 series with one of my friends from Latitude Pure Coaching, Carrie Turner. Carrie traveled to Hawaii for this race as a tune up to get ready for a race later this year in November. She talks about how she had to overcome some mental struggles on the bike in order to pull out a day that she wasn’t expecting. Earlier in the year I interviewed her coach, Morgon Latimore for Ultraman Florida. She also talks about how fun the sport is for her and enjoys being apart of the community of triathletes.

  • 49 - IRONMAN© Chattanooga 70.3 – Nali Hummel
I conclude the IRONMAN© Chattanooga 70.3 series with my friend and two year veteran of the sport of triathlon, Nali Hummel. This was her second 70.3 of her career. While she had an amazing day she shares the struggles of finding balance, credits her support and gives kudos to those who finished that day. She ended up getting an unexpected call from IRONMAN© and tells the story of what that’s like when they call after a race. Something we didn’t discuss is the fact that she raced on a ROAD BIKE and still had a sub 2:40 bike ride.

  • 48 - IRONMAN© Chattanooga 70.3 - Bret Hooppaw
I continue the IRONMAN© Chattanooga 70.3 series with a friend I met on course prior to the start of the race. He talks about first how he is just truly grateful to even compete after a very interesting day in 2013 at IRONMAN© Cozumel. After that race, his entire perspective on racing and training morphed into a more humble and safety oriented way of doing things. He talks about his training going into the race with the help of his coach. Bret mentions how he is a member of BASE Performance and uses their products to train and race with. He will be recovering shortly and then ramping back up for IRONMAN© Louisville later this year in October.
