Pushing the Pile: A CBS Sports NFL Podcast

Who better than to rank defensive backs than someone who played the position at the highest level? Former pro cornerback and friend of the podcast, Bryant McFadden, joins Will Brinson to break down his Top 10 cornerback and safety lists. The guys start at CB (4:30) and discuss tough snubs, a potential breakout in Philly for Darius Slay, and Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey teaming up in the Ravens secondary. BMac and and Brinson also answer who they'd rather have: Tre'Davious White or Jalen Ramsey? Then, they transition to safety (30:00), examining some super solid players before hitting the consensus top 4 of Jamal Adams, Tyrann Mathieu, Derwin James and Minkah Fitzpatrick. What order do they fall in? I'm definitely not dumb enough to list it properly here, so you'll have to listen to find out.

We turn our attention to defensive rankings this week as Ryan Wilson joins Will Brinson to break down his lists for Top 10 EDGE rushers and Top 10 defensive linemen in the league entering 2020. The guys first address the EDGE. Von Miller isn't in Ryan's Top 10 and he caught some heat online for that. Does Brinson disagree too? Which Bosa will be better this season: Joey or Nick? Additionally, the Watt brothers have some interesting landing spots that you won't want to miss.

You hear that? Yep, that siren means it's a Superfriends emergency podcast on the Chiefs reaching a 10-year contract extension with Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. Will Brinson, Ryan Wilson and John Breech (what a day for Sean Wagner-McGough to leave CBS) offer their immediate reactions to the monster deal. The guys speculate what type of money and what type of fine print is attached to the long-term extension. Should the Chiefs have any hesitation over the length? What can Mahomes accomplish over the next decade plus? Will, Ryan and John also dissect what this means for the future of the quarterback market and Dak Prescott's potential contract.

To rank the Top 10 tight ends in the NFL, Will Brinson welcomes Cody Benjamin to discuss his recent list on CBSSports.com. Austin Hooper switched teams this offseason, but will he have the same success in Cleveland with Baker Mayfield as he did in Atlanta with Matt Ryan? Rob Gronkowski is back in the league and back with Tom Brady, but can he remain one of the game's elites? Is the position dominated by a 'Big 3' or a 'Big 2'. Basically, does Zach Ertz belong in the conversation with George Kittle and Travis Kelce? All that and more on this episode of the Pick Six podcast.

With so many great wide receivers in the NFL, Jared Dubin was tasked with creating a list of his Top 10 and discusses that group on today's episode with host Will Brinson. At #10 is a player that has probably been the top guy at some point in his career and could easily be up top again after this season. Which Buc ranks higher: Chris Godwin or Mike Evans? Dubin's a Cowboys fan, so where does he have Amari Cooper? The top 5 are pretty set, it's the order that's up for debate. Find out who cracks the list!

Offensive Rankings Week continues with a look at the best running backs in the NFL. Patrik Walker joins host Will Brinson to explain and defend his Top 10. Alvin Kamara is not one of those Top 10...How can that be? Where do former top picks like Leonard Fournette and Todd Gurley land? Remember, it's important to look at past production but also weigh in expected 2020 performances. Who's the best back from the state of Ohio: Nick Chubb or Joe Mixon? Who's the best back in the NFC East: Saquon Barkley or Ezekiel Elliott? All those answers plus a not-so-surprising pick at #1.

Rankings Week continues with an eye on the biggest focal point position in all of sports. Sean Wagner-McGough joins host Will Brinson to break down his list of the Top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL entering the 2020 season. A snub may surprise you, or may not, if you've listened to Sean before. Spoiler: Tom Brady makes the list, but maybe not where you'd anticipate. Could a newcomer like Kyler Murray crack the list? Dak Prescott or Deshaun Watson? Lamar Jackson or Russell Wilson? Sean settles the debates, or simply sparks them back up, on this episode!

Cam Newton is set to become a New England Patriot, so who better to bring on than Sully from Boston, Tyler Sullivan. Sully joins host Will Brinson to discuss Cam's arrival and fit with the Pats (1:00). Is there any pressure to replace Tom Brady or is that still reserved for Jarrett Stidham? Tyler also helps kick off offensive rankings week by breaking down the most exciting position groups, the offensive line. We hear his Top 10 tackles in the league (18:30) as well as his Top 10 interior OL (26:30). Taylor Lewan didn't approve of the lists. Does Will? Do you?
