Pushing the Pile: A CBS Sports NFL Podcast

Will Brinson and Ryan Wilson are here for a MAILBAG Monday where they answer YOUR questions. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Ben Roethlisberger and Aaron Rodgers days in the NFL are numbered, so with that, which teams are poised to dominate over the next decade? Two of the teams seem super obvious, but filling out a Top 5 proves difficult. Are we not high enough on the Vikings or Colts? Brinson and Wilson break down some supposed contenders and fun new looks we could see in the NFL in 2020. Lastly, Josh, your fantasy league rules are silly!

The Colts were on the list for breakout defenses, and they are on it for offenses as well. Plus, Ryan and Tyler are very high on AFC North offenses.

Pete Prisco makes his triumphant return to the podcast to break down the biggest questions surrounding teams as Training Camp begins across the league. First, Pete and host Will Brinson discuss how the MLB's return to play (and subsequent positive COVID-19 results) could impact the NFL. Then, they dive into the most pressing questions concerning proven contenders and those that are hoping to contend this season. Did the Seahawks get fleeced in the Jamal Adams deal (19:30)? The Chiefs and 49ers were the best two teams in 2019, but can they manage the same success in 2020 (31:30)? The Bucs (42:00) and Cowboys (46:30) figure to be two of the most high-interest teams in the league but have questions just like everyone else. Quarterbacks are often the focal point for exercises like these and not always for good reasons, but Pete shares his confidence in Joe Burrow, Josh Allen and even Baker Mayfield.

After months of limited information regarding the NFL's plans to address COVID-19 concerns, the last couple of days have been a whirlwind. Jonathan Jones joins Will Brinson to break it all down from the #WeWantToPlay hashtag that circulated Sunday to the testing agreed upon on Monday. Was the coordinated effort really necessary or was the league close to a solution all along? Will and JJ discuss testing, the elimination of the preseason and teams that will be best prepared heading into the season. They also focus on the competitive balance this season and how that could be easily impacted if a minor detail goes wrong. What will football media coverage look like in 2020? That's just one of the many questions that remains unanswered as we enter an unprecedented year.
